Was this written by the same Jim Matheson who has abused Milbury at
every turn for the Hamrlik-Brewer deal and openly hoped the Isles and
Oilers could do business again ?
Hate to call our gm a hypocrite, but he sure does take a lot of shots
at the Milsteins now that they are gone. Would have been nice if he
took the same shots during the Ziggy trade and made the same comments
he is making now. In those days he openly supported the ownership and
got a five year deal for his trouble.
Also the first hints of a 2-3 year deal for Milbury, not five.
This may be the first article ever where Milbury is directly quoted
as saying the former owners were actually trying to make a profit
based on television revenue and whoever showed up.
Also there is a part where Czerkawski missed Roberts on the first
goal in game seven, I have not seen that anywhere. Could that have
been the final straw ?
Lapointe is not included as a player over thirty in the article and
Osgood is not over thirty, so a few errors are in the article too.
