Faithful In The National Capital Prepare Towards Lenten Retreat. All Are Welcome!
Lent is a time of not just confession but also a strong pillar of hope for every Orthodox faithful. It promises a chance to repent, a moment to look back and meditate and an opportunity to loudly proclaim as St. Thomas Christians "My Lord and My God". Delhi diocese through its different spiritual organisations have been in the forefront to provide an opportunity to members and visitors to rejuvenate and spent time appraising themselves about Lord's plan through our humble lives by way of Lenten Retreats at the nature's lap, the Aravali Retreat Centre, a dream project envisaged by first Metropolitan Paulos Mar Gregorios the blessed. While Lent started by the organizing of the Aravali feast of St Dionysius by the Youth Movement, the second weekend of this month shall witness the annual Lenten Retreat organised by the Diaspora Secretariat, the movement of the young couples and MGOCSM alumni of the diocese. The secretariat has organised the annual Lenten Retreat this time on 9th, 10th March, 2013. The theme for study and interaction along with worship and meditation is 'Lent in our lives'.
One of the looked forward aspects of the annual retreat is the visit of the faithfuls to the nearby villages and interaction with the communities in the area and prayers in their home.
Diocesan Metropolitan His Grace Youhanon Mar Demetrios would be with the delegates for the full two days and would lead the faithful in the sessions. Fr. Thomas Ninan, Diaspora's first vice-president, would guide in meditation and confession. Fr Binish Babu would also be present. Metropolitan being the chief resource person for the retreat, early bookings for stay at the venue has already begun. Please feel free to call 9810206326, 9811126469 for any further query or to book space for accommodation.
Parish priests are helping out the young men and women and families to prepare for the retreat and to facilitate group transport to the venue. A route map prepared by OCYM is attached for your help to reach the venue.
Let us all be a channel for His glory and to fulfill His commission!
Fr. George Varghese
Vice President, Indian Orthodox Diaspora Secretariat, New Delhi.
