I, too, am looking for a John Hennessey. He was born ca. 1815 in Ireland (listed on the census as Free State so I am assuming it is Northern Ireland). I have a John Hennessey who was baptized on 6/20/1825 in St. Mary's, Limerick, Ireland. I am not sure if this is the correct one or not. He came to America when he was 16 so about 1831-1834. He was a farmer. His father was James Hennessey. There were at least 5 children in the family: Michael, Eugene, Puiny, Mary and John. I do not know if Puiny is a nickname. I do know that all of the other family names have been carried down through the line. The only one which hasn't is Puiny. John Hennessey, Sr. m. Elizabeth White from NJ in 1840. They had 12 children: Garrett, John, Michael, Edward, Anna Rebecca, Mary Elizabeth, Jerdon, Francis Emma, George Washington, Walter, and Margaret. If anyone knows anything about this family, please let me know. Thanking you in advance, RJ
