At approximately 9:30 a.m. today, July 27, 2006, Montgomery County
Public Schools was informed of a bomb threat concerning the regional summer
school program at Seneca Valley High School.
Students and staff were
safely evacuated to an athletic field behind the school, and public safety
officials responded to investigate the threat.
Students were dismissed
for the day at 10:30 a.m. due to the heat and the continuing
The building is expected to reopen tomorrow at 7:45
a.m. as regularly scheduled.
Montgomery County Public Schools is working
with investigators to ensure that those responsible for this threat are held
