Actually, only one state park near Jefferson County has an offleash
area for dogs-Chatfield. One other state park, Cherry Creek, has an
offleash area, but it's pretty far east from Jefferson County, and the
offleash area there does not have a water feature.
The offleash area at Chatfield is incredible though! The only problem
is the high amount of use-it's the only offleash area in the Denver
Metro area with water. In addition, with Colorado being one of the
highest per-capita dog owning states, there's a real shortage of
offleash areas, in spite of the fact that Denver just opened 5 of them
in February, so every single offleash area is way overused.
