Methylated Spirits is mostly ethanol. About 5-15%, depending on manufacturer,
is methanol. The rest, a few percent, are other poisons like benzene, pyridine
and other nasties to add a foul odour and taste. The blending of poisons is
done deliberately so that their boiling points are very close to ethanol so
that distilling will not separate the poisons from the ethanol.
