I have two Macs - an older Macbook Pro (2009) and a new Macbook Air (2012). On the older Mac, the DV Tool is best described as 'flakey'. It works for several seconds or several minutes. But sooner or later, it will 'lose it's connection with the DV Dongle'. The connection can be reestablished, but it's a pain. I contacted tech support and they are aware of the problem with some older Macs. Not sure if they're working it or not.
The DV Tool works flawlessly on the new Macbook Air. Solid.
Back to the older Mac, there's a work around of sorts. If I run Windows under Parallels, and run the Windows version of DV Tool, it seems to work ok. I certainly don't get the disconnects that I see on the Mac side.
