Gentlemen of DIB:
It was a pleasure meeting some of you at the camp out Saturday evening and at the beach on Sunday. I wanted to take this opportunity to formerly introduce myself to you as your co-advisor, along with Poppa Rose. Of course, my name is Adam Lefkowitz, and I am an alumni of the infamous DIB chapter in Hampton Roads. I grew up in the Kempsville area while in BBYO. I held numerous positions in the chapter and on council board with attendance at all major conventions, dances, and get-togethers. Currently, I am working as an adolescent therapist at a residential treamtent center in Portsmouth and live in Downtown Norfolk.
I remember what BBYO meant to me back in high school and what it still does mean to me, which is the main reason I am working with you guys. This will be my first year as a BBYO advisor as my hopes are high for this chapter for the 2010-2011 year. Through talking with David, Mafia, Ross, and others Saturday evening and Sunday at the beach, I have learned that DIB has many hopes and dreams for the future, as do I. My hope is that this summer we can meet a handful of times, whether its with the entire chapter or with the chapter board, but the need is to draw positive attention to ourselves. In my hay-day in DIB, we held some summer socials to encourage the rising 8th graders that we want them to come aboard our ship of success, fun, and service. These programs were also used to keep the members in the chapter entertained and to bring them back for the major programming during the school. I do have many ideas for programming, socials, and success for DIB. I look forward to meeting all members of DIB and hoping to see you all soon this summer.
With undying love for DIB #256 and the bugbites from the camp out,
