Vietnam To Export 10,000 PCs To Cuba '03 - Exec

HANOI -- Vietnam's state-owned Hanoi Electronics Co., or Hanel, plans
to export 10,000 personal computers to Cuba this year, a company
executive said Friday.
Hanel is preparing the first delivery of 3,000 PCs next month, and
will ship the remainder to Cuba before the end of this year, the
According to the official Nhan Dan newspaper, Hanel signed a contract
with the Cuban government in February this year, whereby the company
also agreed to provide Cuba with a production line to assemble
televisions and help boost information technology cooperation between
the two countries.
Hanel is one of Vietnam's largest electronics makers.
