I have mixed feelings on the corset. I do think they look gorgeous
on the female figure. But the health risks are present. I'm sure
they did cause internal organ isssues, smooshing everything in like
that. But as far as today's corsets, like from victoria's secret,
they, while being less accurate to the original designs, are more
comfortable, and don't inflict injury on the wearer. All the while
enabling the wearer to acheive the hourglass figure.
I have a modern interpretation of a corset, and it did wonders for
my figure. Now I've donned 30 pounds and it doesn't fit anymore. I
can see why people would wear them. It gives them the supposedly
ideal figure. (I loved my tiny waist, and now it's gone)
As far as the questions posed on the corset page, the difference I
noticed between the two designs, was cut. The first, older design
trimmed all over and didn't really seem to emphasize anything. Just
supported and smoothed. The second design looke more painful. It
really forced the waist in, pushed the bust up, and accented the
hips. Ouch. But I still think they're so pretty to look at. Just bad
for your health.
I am still working on last week assignment, I'll post it soon.
