You might want to give Al Betker at Maximum Torque a
call. His number is 262-740-1118. The cam will run
you about $180. Depending on what you want out of the
motor will determine the need for a spring kit or not.
Bear in mind the words "high performance" and "cheap"
do not mix. As with anything else "you get what you
pay for". I might suggest you get the book "Big Inch
Cadillac" by Doc Frohmader and see what you are
getting into. Al has the book in stock at his shop.
Do the necessary research before you lay out any money
and you will have a motor that will be a blast and
last a long time.

I was looking at the CompCams camshafts for 425
engines, but nobody
seems to carry them! I'm looking for the cheapest
prices.. With a
High Energy cam would I need a valve spring kit? and
where to buy?
also looking for timing set.
What would be a good intake? I'm looking only for
daily street
performance, i.e. lots of low end torque.. will
probably be running
an Edelbrock 750 carb..
