Hi Jeff… I may do just that as well.. I have another issue Mike pointed out.. So I will be uninstalling other things I also no longer use and do a reboot.. I will set WMTNC To restart after each connection.. You may be on to something what I have been blaming on the SCS Pactor TNC may in fact be the WM TNC…
As far as Lock ups..
I suspect the WINMOR TNC and/or interlock glitches may be part of your troubles.
I noticed another "busy" from you yesterday when I tried you on 40m RP. When I looped around into your node via AXIP I could see your Port 17 (WINMOR, I think) was in use per the "U" command, but the MH list indicated no one was actively using it.
There is a "restart WM TNC" after each connection, you might try that and see if it helps. BPQ32 has another watchdog timer that catches the WM TNC locked up/non-responsive, but my past experience was that either it didn't always catch it or it took a real long time to notice it.
You may try running for a week or two without WINMOR and under a more streamlined configuration and see if it stabilizes.
Outside of running into the age old (and apparently still not fixed by Kantronics) KPC3+ KISS mode bug and lots of tower work projects impacting things at times, I've had zero problems over here since I dropped WM and went with just Robust Packet.
