Golden Gate Bridge district eliminates late Friday night ferry
The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District has
announced that it is eliminating the Late Friday Night Ferry service
between Larkspur and San Francisco effective July 12.
The discontinuation of the service is intended to cut expenses by
eliminating underutilized services, the district said.
On Friday, July 12, the final evening ferry will leave Larkspur at
8:15 p.m. and leave San Francisco at 9:10 p.m.
The service was started several years ago as an alternative to driving
between Marin and San Francisco on Friday evenings.
Ferries left Larkspur at 10 p.m. and 11:40 p.m., and departed San
Francisco at 10:50 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
