Credit is Due
Let's give credit were credit is due and remind taxpayers that
former San Mateo County Supervisor Mike Nevin was part of the
political force who railroaded the BART to SFO extension to
Time has proven that peninsula commuters have chosen to ride the
baby bullet train up the peninsula to San Francisco rather than
taking a BART detour through Daly City.
Also, let's not forget that BART riders from Millbrae to downtown
San Francisco have the privilege of paying a higher price to take
a scenic tour around San Bruno Mountain.
The past actions of ambitious politicians such as Mike Nevin, who is
currently seeking a State Senate seat in the fall of 2006, should
not be forgotten. When the Senate election occurs voters should
remember the financial cost of the annual ten million dollars that
San Mateo County residents pay in taxes to subsidize this BART to
SFO extension; a subsidy paid by taxpayers so commuters can
promenade up the peninsula to San Francisco.
