The Blivit 13, which I will be building this winter, has a really
shallow mast cup. A note on the plans indicates that Platt was
thinking that it would be interesting to lean the mast into the wind
to try to get lift, like with a windsurfer. I'm pretty sure I won't be
doing that! But it seems like a deeper socket, or even a thwart with a
hole in it, would make it a lot easier to rig the mast when setting up
the boat by yourself. If anyone here has a Blivit 13, do you have any
trouble rigging the mast with that shallow socket?
