In my eyes the statue is an Ekpu (name of this type of figure) of the ORON (name of the community) who are located in Akwa-Ibom (a state of south-east Nigeria).
While the mask seems to me to be an Okua (name of this type of mask) of the IDOMA (well, according to the scarif and type of hairdressing).
I would not dare to say if this Ekpu was ever venerated or if this Okua danced - my whole suspicion being directed towards my perceptions
- especially with pictures.
It would be interesting to see the back of the mask and closer photos of the Ekpu.
