Interesting thing... it's male and female PERSONAS. So if you portray a persona of the opposite gender, you challenge for the gender of the persona, not the person. The most recent Scholar of St. Thomas Aquinas is http://wiki.antir.sca.org/index.php?title=Rajpal_Ganeshan who challenged into Golden Swan as http://wiki.antir.sca.org/index.php?title=Alis_Talairan_de_Perigord in 2003. Golden Swan is one of the inspirations behind my 50-section persona questionnaire and persona breadth challenges. It will probably be a couple years before I get around to trying for Golden Swan, but I'm a big fan making my projects multi-task. This way almost all of my projects serve as elements of my A&S50 challenges, prepare me for Golden Swan and flesh out my character for the living history group I'm involved with, and I only have to do it once!
