The Chicago Tribune is looking for an experienced, versatile copy editor to join its Editing & Presentation Department.
A copy editor at the Tribune handles a wide range of material: You might start the day by editing a TV review, then move on to suburban news, handle a corporate earnings report, then wrap up with a story out of Afghanistan.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of relevant experience at a midsize or larger daily newspaper. Requirements include top-notch editing skills, a flair with headlines, speed, the ability to triage and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed, as well as the talent to quickly master evolving production systems. Knowledge of AP style is also required.
Pluses: SEO familiarity, experience with CCI NewsGate and page design skills.
If you fit those criteria, please send a cover letter and resume to Valentina Djeljosevic, deputy editor of Editing & Presentation, at vdjeljosevic@...
