The University of South Carolina seeks applicants for Assistant Vice President and Director of News and Internal Communications. This is a newly created position responsible for serving as the universityâs official spokesperson, elevating its level of national media visibility and developing an internal communications strategy. We seek a person who is a skilled writer and story-teller and is capable of building communities of interest. That person will report to the universityâs Vice President for Communications. Applicants should have at least ten yearsâ experience including media relations strategy, online technologies and social media best practices in advancing an institutionâs reach and reputation. A bachelorâs degree in journalism, communications, public relations, new media or related field is required; masterâs is preferred.
