I am a 35 year old stay at home mother who will be homeschooling this
fall for Kindergarten for the first time! I am totally disorganized and
my husband is even worse! I am trying to get read for the homeschooling
as I really want to do well.
One of the things that I am going to try comes from my 7th grade science
teacher, Mrs. Glasgow. Every six weeks we started a new folder (with
pockets and 3-hole fold over metal things?). The top sheet (from what I
can remember) was a sheet listing our grades whether it was for a
worksheet, quiz, test, project, etc., then you placed in order as you did
them in the folder all the worksheets, quizzes, etc. that you received a
grade on in the folder. Of course, we received a 1/3 of our grade from
tests, 1/3 from that folder being neat and complete and 1/3 for something
else. I think that using this folder method to keep with worksheets,
"quizzes", etc. would be helpful both to "see" what you have accomplished
and also to keep to show to any authorities who might come to your house.
It worked really well for her class. I will be trying something similar
to help with my "organization" problem. hahahha
Hope this is useful. Also, any hints, ideas, experiences, etc. would be
appreciated if you send them to me.
