Yahoo! Groups

Dear Former Yahoo! Clubs Member,

We have exciting news to share with you. Yahoo! Clubs has just completed the merge with Yahoo! Groups. Your Yahoo! Clubs service has taken on a new look and feel.

What Happened To Yahoo! Clubs?
Yahoo! Clubs has merged with Yahoo! Groups. Don't worry, all your old Yahoo! Clubs web addresses and URLs still continue to work, all data and event ownership has been maintained, and your entire club membership has carried over to the Yahoo! Groups service. This has all happened automatically.

You can access your group by:

  • Clicking on your group's name from the My Groups area off the main page of Yahoo! Groups:
    http://groups.yahoo.com
  • Typing in your current former clubs URL:
    http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/title
  • Entering your new groups URL:
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/title

title = the name of your former club with no spaces or apostrophes.
(Example: "Bobby's Fish Club" would be "bobbysfishclub")

Yahoo! Groups

The best part? There's no need to register again to access your group. The Yahoo! ID you used for Yahoo! Clubs will log you in on both the Yahoo! Groups home page, and within your individual group.

What's New?
The major features you knew and loved about Yahoo! Clubs has become part of Yahoo! Groups. In addition, we've added some new functionality that we hope you'll enjoy. Yahoo! Groups has lots of new features and even better customization.

As a group member, you can:

  • Post messages to your group by email -- and stay in touch with your group from anywhere, without having to log into the Web
  • Search the message archive in your group by keyword
  • Create and maintain databases to store information
  • Choose from thousands more groups that fit your interests
  • Choose from more descriptive search results to help you locate the right group for your needs
Additionally, group owners and moderators (known as founders on Yahoo! Clubs) can:
  • Moderate messages before they are posted
  • Moderate members to decide who is allowed to join your group
  • Turn certain features on and off whenever you like
  • Offer members custom levels of access to group features
  • Customize moderator abilities
  • Add HTML to your Group Description (known as the Founder's Message in Yahoo! Clubs)
And much, much more!
