Creating beautiful items for the home and yard needn't be expensive. In fact, many of the materials needed for your works of art can be found right outside your front door!

There is an impressive variety of plants, shells, nuts, fruits, herbs, flowers, foliage, pods, bark, twigs, sand, mosses and other natural materials that can be gathered from your own backyard. Get closer to nature by taking a hike in the local woods - while there gather items you spot on the ground (be respectful and NEVER harm a living plant!)

If you can't grow it or gather it yourself, the craft stores are full of natural items.
