Listen to the trill of the flitting songbirds...
see the butterflies sipping nectar from native wildflowers...hear the plop of a frog jumping into the pond....This isn't your yard you say? Well, it could be, and it doesn't matter where you live or how much space you have.
So says the National Wildlife Federation. So how does one go about creating such a wonderful place?
Succeeding in attracting wildlife has to do with providing food, water, cover and a place to raise young.
This list is a 'learning & sharing' list on how to create these beautiful back yard habitats. The wildlife you attract will depend on your area, but very likely it will include butterflies and birds, frogs and toads and dragonflies!
We'll discuss natural and environmental friendly gardening.
We'll talk about the different flowers, trees, shrubs, etc., that attract and feed the different kinds of back yard wildlife.
We'll also talk about building bird houses, what size entrance holes for what birds, where to best place them and more.
We'll share *recipes* for feeding the wildlife we are trying to attract, from seeds to nectar to fruit and everything else.
