Description
Zoar Valley Paddling Club is a whitewater kayaking and paddling non-profit organization that spans from the Buffalo Western New York to North Western Pennsylvania Regions.
Our purpose is promoting the practice of proper paddling and river safety, organizing club trips and events, aiding in river protection and conservation, and introducing river sports to new members.
Our main local run for paddling is the Cattaraugus Creek that flows through Gowanda, NY near Buffalo, also known as Zoar Valley, which offers sections of flat water to Class I-III whitewater. Our members regularly plan trips to other rivers in New York, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Canada.
Membership:
Our membership benefits includes membership to the American Canoe Association, a free magazine subscription, insurance on trips, annual new year’s party at the Wicked Glen in Gowanda, support of the Cattaraugus Creek cleanup and the Notaragatta river party, a discounted Niagara jet boat ride in the summer, winter pool roll practiceses at UB, and we’re on the Catt all year. Many trips to the Yough, Cheat, Black, Moose, Ottawa, Gauley, Salmon, etc…
To become a club member please get the American Canoe Association (ACA) form at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zoarvalleypaddlingclub/files/ and send with a check payable to Zoar Valley Paddling Club ($40 single, $60 family, one form for each person) to:
