hey kids...
i'm off to make more copies of some old and a new issue of gnosis, so if you're
interested, drop me a line:

gnosis #5- well, it starts as the diy issue but kinda loses it after awhile. how
to start your own zine, how to make a skirt out of a t-shirt, how to make
stencils...my break-up with sean, the beginning of an alphabet series (the bri
zine encyclopedia) A, B & C...republished article "punk'n'zine" from my old zine
"culture sh*ck", "remember when", a look back on my high school career...life
for pop tart #5-6 (comics), free stephen funk day 2003 (my opinions on NION's
support of stephen funk), and a bit more.

gnosis #6- the continued bri zine encyclopedia (D, E & F)..."it's been a year,
hasn't it?"- the year my life really began, "you can call me a fashion core
whore"- why i hate having my picture taken, random thoughts about my silly
crushes from november 03 (when i started making the zine) up until spring break,
when i was already well into my wonderful relationship with my boyfriend
donny...poetry by myself & local hip-hop artist/slam poet judah, "the role of
men and women in society baded upon 'the taming of the shrew'"...how spring
time=zine time, and a lot more.

gnosis #7- more bri zine encyclopedia (G, H & I though H is a little neglected),
life for pop tart #7 (comic), zine reviews, my summer internship workin for "the
man", a long slam poem that i wrote with judah (his half will be in gnosis #8),
why am i obsessed with notebooks?, oooh drama, my psuedo-band die computer die,
the so ricki reunion show (my first band), and a lot of neat, random
thoughts/writings

all of these are $1/2 stamps each. all are 1/4 size, 40 pages. i also accept
trade but please contact me first to discuss.

if any of you are still waiting for an order to be sent to you, i am sorry. i
moved recently so things have been a bit hectic. please email me & let me know
what you ordered, your address, etc.

Subject: SPA Update - Summer '04!
aipman1

Hello folks!
It's been a while since I went around spreading the word on
the latest at the Small Press Association. So on the off-chance that
you haven't heard of us, the SPA is a community that grew out of a
Yahoo Club (remember those?!?) to build better tools for small press
publishers, and fans of the genre, to use to do all the things that
small pressers do. That includes everything from how-to make a
minicomic of 100 copies, to how to prep files for a 96 page GN, to
how to computer-color Webcomics, and any aspect of creating comics
therein. That includes running a review magazine both in print and
online, so readers can find out what's good, and connecting that to
an ordering system so you can get it…at a discount off the cover
prices to boot!
Anyway, that's just a tip of the Iceberg that is the SPA.
I'm going about today to let people know we've got a brand new
resource on the website, Classifieds! These are a classifieds system
that is going to be designed from the get-go as geared for and by
small pressers/zinesters. During the beta phase, all ads are free,
and that includes being able to upload up to 5 images per item. Buy,
sell, trade your comic/zine collections, things you've printed, and
find out of print things. You can also get e-mailed when someone
posts an ad matching something you're looking for. Check it out!
Help us define additional categories and such.

The Classifieds:
http://www.dimestoreproductions.com/Classifieds/default.asp

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and hope that you
find this useful!

Free Ebook

Hi friends,

I'm SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon. I'm an activist for human rights,
especially for refugees. I'm working now on a project for publishing ebooks on
the net about our cases as refugees. I'm writing about my own experience and I'm
translating some articles from Arabic to English. One of my ebooks is for sale
and the other are for free. I need some help in proof reading and editing for my
free ebook {REFUGEES FARM} it's about a special event in the life of refugees in
Lebanon when they went in hunger strike at UNHCR's office in Beirut. I
translated articles from local newspaper and also I'll add my comments.

The book will be available for free, but I need some proof reading (in English).
I hope I can find help from any friend who has the ability and the time to do
some editing (grammar arranging). The work is in MS word documents. For any
friend how speaking Arabic and English there will be articles in Arabic.

Please notice; I don't have any financial offers for that work. I'll give it
free for any one who likes to read. I can offer only to put some announcement in
the ebook about any help I'll have to make the book. For example if there is any
one who has any kind of work related to book business and he will help me for
free I'll put an announcement about his company and his contribution in return
for his help or sponsoring if available.

I appreciate any help.

I’ll be happy if you look in this page: http://www.unhcr.co.uk/farm/farm.htm
there are links to download the work
  for the ebook ‘refugees farm’.

There are zip files contain the work, you can download what you like to read and
to work on if you like.

I’ll be happy to hear your opinions and comments.

Please, use the form in this page: http://www.unhcr.co.uk/email_me.htm to reach

My name is Lorenzo Crescini and I'm Italian. These "Flashes on Good
and evil" reflect the same mood characterizing the Flashes on the
Holy Gospels and Turin's Holy Shroud I wrote in Africa: making myself
useful to our Lord Jesus Christ.
I will start by quoting the best Prayer to Jesus I've ever read.
At the very beginning some reflections concern the devil one.
I thank all those who will read me, write to me, will ask for an
explanation and those who will be able and willing to advertise what
they read by Web, the press or however they like.
I am confident that the last of my Reflections containing a few lined
short account of my life, will be devoted to all of us who are proud
of the Lord.

Best regards

Here are three Reflections as an example

24) One cannot or mustn't say to those who are ill and
suffering: " That's God who puts you to the test". In this way we
would offend The God of Endless Love who cannot wish our suffering.
One needs say to those who suffer: " God's Son himself suffered
because of evil, but you will also resurrect with Him, as He did".
That is the truth and only the truth can give one who suffers the
Hope which won't let him fall into that despair the devil one wants
to seize his soul and conscience! Saying: "it's God who puts you to
the test" gives a suffering man the same relief a learned lecture on
food chemistry gives a starving one.

29) We can give or take from God, Creator of all things, nothing,
except for two things: we can take from Him Honour by offending Him
with our refusal, we can give Him our love, by accepting Him in our
heart! With what insolence might we wish or boast His Light one day,
we, if we had denied Him all life long, being able to believe Him and
not doing that?

38) There are many Evangelic miracles showing the spontaneity of
a memory, neither built nor adapted, which nevertheless is engraved
in the memory of those who were present to the event. It is from
conveyed small details that the truth of the memory of a lived and
handed down episode transpires.

It had to be in the early-to-mid 1990s when a friend of mine from
Dallas started sending me evelopes he made out of magazine pages.
Then suddenly, I decided to do the same thing. In my case, I decided
to make envelopes out of the bad xeroxes I'd make. And now I'm making
this kind of envelope art all the time. It's a creative thing!

Anyway, I've got hundreds of these envelopes for sale for what I
guess are low, low prices. (All under 20 cents each!) For those
interested in buying one or more, just contact me at:

both dealing with science fiction and science fact. The potential for

My name is Ryan Rogers. I run a non-profit organization out of Salem,
Oregon called "Freaks N Geeks". (I won't go too deeply into that
now, but if you are curious, lemme know and I'll tell more). Anyhow,
we publish a little zine (though I admit that we got into it a bit
ignorantly of the entire universe in which we existed), and are
expanding our operation a bit. We are developing, at Willamette
University, a "zine program", which will not only include tutorials
and classes on how to put togther zines and other independent
publishing projects, but also a zine library....which brings me to my
point.

We are in the process of putting together a zine library, which as
most of you know, is a rather daunting task. The first and foremost
thing is to, basically, 'get zines'. Zines that you would be willing
to contribute would be studies, read, shared, and truly enjoyed!
We'll take any zines whatsoever, and would love your submissions. If
you would be willing and/or interested in contributing your zines to
our project, please e-mail me at freaksngeeksrmr@....

One step further note, but we are considering trying to do some kind
of online archiving as well. The parameters of this as a possibility
are still somewhat sketchy to us, so it may not work out, but if you
think you would be willing to allow your zines to be .pdf filed and
available online, please let us know that. We would not and never
will do this without express and direct permission.

Thank you again.
Ryan Rogers

PS - I notice an appology for cross-posting, and if it is something
that is frowned upon, I appologise as well. This is not spam. This is
a legitimate request, a legitimate project, and somethign that we are
undertaking passionately.

I have a serial sci-fi story that I need an artist for, if anyone is
interested. I'm looking for someone who has an interesting (duh)
style and can create African American women that don't look like
brown Barbie's with breasts falling out of their shirts. The story
has a lot of extra-terrestrials and odd backgrounds. Some of these I
have specific ideas for and some of them will be left to you to
create. I don't want the story to look like mainstream (Marvel, DC,
etc.) work so you don't need to tell me how hard you're trying to
emulate those styles.

FYI, currently this is not a paying position. This story will be
published in the bi-monthly anthology Midnight Ink, so you'll get one
copy of each issue in which the story appears. However, at some
point, I plan to publish the story as a stand-alone, in which case
you will be paid.

If anyone is interested and/or has any questions, contact me at
midnight(@)natj.net.

FIRE IN HIS SOUL

Apollo discovers his own latent psionic power, and rejects it,
for fear that it's an invitation to Count Iblis to return for his
soul. In this fascinating gen novella by Sharon Monroe, with a
gorgeous cover by Barbara Fister-Liltz, Adama assigns him a new aide,
the young protege of his own one-time teacher. Will she be Apollo's
salvation or his damnation as the web tightens around them, across
two dead worlds under the dominion of the Dark Prince?

MIND IN THE SHADOWS

An ion storm forces a patrol down on a lonely agro-planet, in
this novella by Julia Ecklar, with a beautiful cover by Marj Ihssen.
Starbuck lies near death, despite Apollo's and Boomer's desperate
attempts to save him. But what strange, haunted voice echoes in a
dying man's thoughts? A gentle story of love, death and healing.

THE RACE FOR EARTH

After ten yahrens in space and a change of command, the
Galactica has found the way to Earth, in an ancient derelict ship.
But Baltar has caught up with the Fleet, and takes a hostage Apollo
may not be able to resist. Athena fears for her own sons; Bojay's
ghost hangs between Sheba and Apollo; Cassie and Starbuck wonder if
they'll ever have time for a life; and Commander Tigh feels Adama's
spirit waiting behind him. In this enthralling novella by Sharon
Monroe and Gordon Smuder, while young warriors prepare for baptism by
fire, veterans wearily regroup, returning to a battle they had
fervently hoped they had left behind.

WE KNOW WHO WE ARE

With an amazing cover by Gordon Smuder, in this novella by
Charles Oines, the Colonials have met the Veerzhal -- telepathic,
space-faring felines. Will they be friends or enemies? Ask Apollo,
convinced his life is shattered forever from union with an alien.
Ask Starbuck, suspicious but intrigued by what they offer. Ask
Sheba, bewildered by her own reactions. Ask Baltar, closing for the
kill....

In this intriguing gen sequel to ISLANDS, the first Book of
the "Sundowner" trilogy, written by Roberta Steumke, with a beautiful
cover by Stephanie Stoddard, to save the rebellion, Avon must save
Jenna from Sleer -- even though she has sworn to kill him if they
meet again, for Blake's death. Avon's allies: a mercenary trainer on
a Rim world, an information broker who's worked for the Federation,
and Jenna's secretive aide. But Dayna haunts Tarrant's sleep,
demanding vengeance for her death at Arlen's hands, and the
increasingly telepathic pilot may drag his friends down into madness
with him.

ISLANDS

Blake lied. And his last secret may hold escape for the
survivors of Gauda Prime -- if Avon can live with the guilt of having
killed Blake, and if Jenna can reach him in time, and if Tarrant can
deceive Sleer long enough to save a tragic alien child, and if Vila
can steal the most incredible spaceship ever built. Book 2 of
the "Sundowner" trilogy, written by Roberta Steumke, with a lovely
cover by Stephanie Stoddard, this gen post-Gauda Prime novel offers a
unique tale that will satisfy your need for a good ending that the
series never gave you!

WAVES

A thrilling gen sequel to CIRCLES, written by Roberta Stuemke,
with a sweet cover by Tama L. Beatty. The grand conclusion of the
majestic "Sundowner" trilogy. The Academy has revolted! The
rebellion against the Federation will be victorious now...or be
shattered forever. Word reaches the rebels, the Federation forces
under Sleer, and the mysterious Leader -- and it's a race. Avon,
Jenna, Tarrant, Vila and their allies must reach Earth before Sleer
can rally her forces to quell the rebellion, and before the Leader
can move his own pawns. But back at the Academy, the rebels have
sworn to destroy Earth before they'll submit again, and they have a
doomsday weapon no one expects....

WINNER TAKES ALL

In this novel written by Denyse M. Bridger, with a fantastic
cover by Frank V. Liltz, when Chris is a few days late coming back to
Four Corners from a trip, the rest of the Seven aren't unduly
concerned. When more than a week passes, they begin to search for
him, covering every town within a hundred miles. After more than a
month, even the most reluctant of them has to admit that Chris
Larabee may have finally left them for good. Could it be true? Or
could Chris have been ambushed and shot, barely managing to get away,
and even now lays on a stranger's bed, sick, shaky, sweating, and
fighting for his life? A novel of past reminiscences, growth and the
beginnings of new love. Don't miss it!

THE LADY OF SHERWOOD

In this enthralling gen sequel to THE SEIGE OF HUNTINGDON,
written by Kathryn Connery, with a beautiful cover by Delayne
Hostetler, Marion returns to Sherwood, less than sane, determined to
destroy the 'false Robin;' King John rides to find the man who robbed
him of a hostage; and a new Herne commands his son to give Albion
into the keeping of the Lady. Does it presage, yet again, the death
of Robin Hood?

THE SIEGE OF HUNTINGDON

Written by Kathryn Pepmiller Connery, a vision from Herne sends
Robin racing to save his ancestral lands from confiscation, and his
sister from an unwanted political marriage. While Robin and his men

Written by R. Dean Becker, this enthralling novel begins in
canon, at the point where Buffy has discovered, and dispatched, all
of Spike's newly-Turned fledging vampires in the cellar he was holed
up in, but from there, it diverges into a new tale of love and growth
and rebirth, not just between Buffy and Spike, but including all the

This gen adult novel shows how a Slayer and a Vampire with a soul can
come together in love, and become One in order to defeat the First

Subject: Need artists for 2 projects!!!
natj_az

Okay, I have two different projects that I need artists for:

1. Sci-fi series for submission to Midnight Ink
- I have a space/war/drama kind of story that I have been trying to
publish for years. I can't seem to find an artist who 1. has a style
that works for the story and 2. has time to draw the story. Whenever
I find a style I like, the artist is too busy. I've been working with
a guy for a few months, but I really don't think he has time for this
right now. Each episode of the story is 10-15 pages long and Midnight
Ink is published bi-monthly. So, if you're interested in helping me
create a universe full of extra-terrestrial species and cultures AND
you have the schedule to accommodate it, please email me at midnight
(@)natj.net.

2. Poetry series for submission to Midnight Ink
- I have picked a bunch of my poems that will be illustrated as a
series of feature stories in the anthology, Midnight Ink. Each poem
has a different theme, so none of them will be related in any way.
The plan is to use a different artist for each poem, the only
continuity being the writer. You can either pick a poem that you'd
like to illustrate or let me decide. Either way works for me. You
have complete creative control over the look/format/style of the
story. I have no preconceptions about how something should look, so
all I'm contributing is the writing. I have a lot of different poems
about a lot of different stuff, so there'll probably be at least ONE
that you're interested in illustrating. Email me at midnight(@)
natj.net and we'll figure something out.

***ALSO, if anyone else has their own story to submit, that's cool,
too. Midnight Ink is always looking for submissions. Payment is one
copy of each Midnight Ink issue that your submission appears in.

After hearing all the hoopla about Sky Captain and the World of
Tomorrow and its 100 percent computer-generated scenery, I've decided
to do a mostly computer-generated comic of my own. But since I didn't
want to go through the trouble of thinking up an all-new idea for the
comic, I decided to look at some old comic book ideas I had lying
around. In so doing, I found the perfect idea for this mostly
computer generated-comic project: Adventures in the Superfuture!

Adventures in the Superfuture! takes place 1,000 years in the future
and beyond -- an era that I define as the superfuture. The story will
deal with intergalactic mercenaries, terraforming scientists and
an "astrophyisical" women's prison among other things. I could go
into more details on the project, but I'm still working on it. And if
things go ideally, I could have Adventures in the Superfuture! done
sometime in November.

A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE by Sheila Paulson
(The Sentinel)

"So a friend of mine is having this big Christmas
party next week," Blair was saying. "And I can't get
out of it, but if you want to come, you can."
      "A college party, Sandburg?"
"She's a teaching fellow, Jim, not an
undergraduate. It's not gonna be a bunch of kids."
"Your kind of thing, Sandburg. You go."
Blair's face held disappointment, but he masked
it instantly, coming up with a grin. "We don't talk
about prehistoric man and cultural differences between
ancient tribes when we party, Jim."
"Oh, no? I remember that thing you dragged me to
for Halloween, Sandburg. An old lady with *blue hair*
pinned me in a corner and talked to me about...what
was it? Cultural diffusion in Micronesia. For forty
minutes!"
Sandburg's eyes twinkled. "That's Dr. Spangler.
She never talks about anything else. She won't be at
the Christmas party. She'll be away for the holidays.
I swear you'll be safe." He was laughing, flinging
out a dare.
But Jim shook his head. "Thanks for the offer,
Chief, but I think I'll pass."
"Yes, sir, Mr. Scrooge, sir," Blair teased him,
cocking an eyebrow expectantly.
"I said, *I'll pass,*" Jim snapped
involuntarily, resenting the 'Scrooge' comment, even
as he wondered if there was truth in it.
All the fun went out of Sandburg's eyes, and Jim
felt mean. Knowing he was in the wrong tended to make
him want to take his guilt and anger out on the
nearest handy target, but he stomped down the impulse.
"Sorry. Look, Sandburg, I just don't do Christmas.
Don't try to 'redeem' me or turn me around. As far as
I'm concerned, Christmas is just another day.
Celebrate it all you like, just don't try to make me
part of it. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, I
just don't do it. Fair enough?"
Blair nodded. "Sure, Jim," he said quietly. "No
problem."
But there was no sparkle in his face, and he was
far quieter than usual all the way back to the
station.

LET NOTHING YOU DISMAY by Sheila Paulson
(Stargate SG-1)

"I do not believe such garb is necessary," Teal'c
said in a disgusted snort, frowning down at his
unexpected attire.
"Oh, come on, Teal'c, where's your Christmas
spirit?" Recruited into the enterprise, Colonel
O'Neill had unbent remarkably. He was no longer a
Grinch. The teasing, ever-so-slightly silly side of
his nature, which only emerged when he was happy and
there was no danger, or when he wanted to help another
team member relax, was at the fore. He stood back,
head tilted, surveying Teal'c. "It's you," he said,
his eyes twinkling. "It's really you."
"It is not me. It is simply strange clothing. I
am not certain I can forgive you this," Teal'c said.
He felt remarkably foolish.
Jack reached out and adjusted Teal'c's hat, and
the wig along with it. "You'll do. Come on, let's go
show Sam. We just have to remember, it's all her
fault. If Daniel gets on our case about it, we put
the blame squarely where it belongs. Deal?"
Teal'c hesitated, then he realized O'Neill's
words were true. All the blame must fall on Captain
Carter -- for the idea. For its execution, he and
O'Neill had an equal share in the blame. However, he
had learned much since his arrival on Earth. "It is a
deal," he concurred.
      "You look...great," O'Neill continued, struggling
not to laugh. "I wish I had a camera so I could show
the people at the base...."
"No. Part of the 'deal' was that there were to
be no photographs." Teal'c tugged uncomfortably at
the broad, black belt secured across his middle. It
was not too tight; it would not disturb his Goa'uld
larva. "This clothing is very hot," he added. "I do
not like it."
"It's only to get us in the door. Ready? Good."
O'Neill tilted his head to one side and studied the
finished product. "Great. Come on, Sam's waiting."
Captain Carter's delight in seeing Teal'c lit up
her whole face....

Yup! Zine Solar system is still around and still prints cheap, cheap
ads among other things. Though ZSS started out as a review zine, zine
reviews are no longer published therein. As such, ZSS is now a zine
of zine affairs. Any and all zine-related issues are covered with the
obvious exception of zine reviews. So if you want to try a zine
that's guaranteed to be totally different, try ZSS. It's the
Factsheet 5 of the new millennium! Or is it?!?

A HELPING HAND by Evangeline Anderson

"But Abby's been gone for over a month now,"
Starsky said, echoing Hutch's thoughts. "And I know
you haven't been with any other girls..." His eyes
widened. "Hey, Hutch -- are you tryin' to tell me
it's been over a month since you got off?"
"So?" Hutch said truculently. "Don't worry about
it, Starsk. It's no big deal."
"Looks like a big deal to me." Starsky's voice
was low as he eyed the blond's still-erect cock
throbbing behind the tight prison of Hutch's pants.
"And you said your therapist said it'll be a whole
'nother month until your hand regains 'normal
function.' How are you gonna stand it?"
"I'll be fine. I told you not to worry about
it." Hutch frowned and willed his pulsing erection to
go away, but his cock wasn't listening to that
particular head at the moment.
"But I *do* worry about it." Starsky moved
closer so that they were flank to flank again and
Hutch could feel his partner's body heat like a flame
along his entire right side. "You're my partner, my
best friend." His voice had gone low and seductive,
the same tone Hutch had heard him use a thousand times
with girls. He had never expected to hear that sultry
tone turned on himself.
"What are you saying?" Hutch demanded, not sure
he liked the way his own voice had dropped in response
to his friend's. //What are you offering?// he
thought.
"I'm sayin' why not let me help you out?"
Starsky's left hand was on Hutch's knee now and there
was a question in the half-lidded indigo eyes.
Starsky's eyes always looked like that, took on that
lazy sexuality when his partner was feeling hot and
bothered. Hutch had never expected to see that look
in Starsky's eyes for him, either.
He sensed they were on the cusp of something
completely different, something frightening and
wonderful at the same time. Once word from him could
turn the situation in either direction. Without
knowing what was going to come out, Hutch opened his
mouth and spoke the word:
      "Okay."

Some sizzle, some flash, and a whole lot of love in
this zine! Don't miss it! INTERLUDES now available
