ZapMap is an electronic mapping program written in Java and PostScript. It uses data extracted from a FileMaker Pro database filled with US Census Bureau Tiger data of Santa Clara County, California. Finished maps of Silicon Valley, including San Jose, Campbell, Willow Glen, and Los Gatos appear on internet web pages as applets, GIF imagemaps, and/or interactive PDF files.

Freelance consultants, contract programmers, graphics designers and other computer professionals are invited to join and discuss open source software and business strategy for the "new economy." We plan to meet on a regular basis at central locations determined to be convenient to all.
