Welcome to the Zambia Adoptions group! This group intended for those who have, are, will be or are dreaming of adopting from Zambia. Be prepared for a rocky ride, however. Things are definitely not smooth right now. This list is for those seeking information, both good and "bad". There are families on this list who have successfully adopted from Zambia. There are other families who have traveled and returned home without children. There are folks wanting to adopt with an agency and others who want to do it independently. We have families from at least three different countries. We have folks affiliated with at least 4 different agencies. This list is not "all roses" right now, but it's not intended to be out-and-out discouraging, either. It is hoped, however, that prospective adoptive parents will gain insight into the nature of adoption in Zambia at this moment, that they will go into it with their eyes open, and that they will be respectful of Zambia and the Zambian people.
