YAP is a group of novice to intermediate improv players from the Greater Boston area who practice on Sundays.
PARTICIPANTS:
Everyone is invited and encouraged to bring a friend. We are players with a basic understanding of improv and/or acting experience.
DATE AND TIME:
Every Sunday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
LOCATION:
ImprovBoston, 40 Prospect St., Cambridge, MA (Central Square stop on the Red Line)
PURPOSE:
To get some extra practice time for sharpening improv skills – (good opportunity to start your improv resume).
DIRECTOR:
As part of Improv Boston’s training ground, the YAP Group allows players to develop their skills under the tutelage of a variety of well-known visiting directors from Boston’s improv scene.
FORMAT:
We focus primarily on scenework. We can offer side coaching and direction, and if people want to work on specific things we can do that, but for now we want to focus on this just being practice with the overall purpose of improving scenework. Our goal at this point is to try to make YAPpers performance ready.
CONTACT: Please send a message to the group mailing list on Yahoo (yesandpractice@yahoogroups.com) with any questions. (Note: in order to limit spam on the list, you will have to subscribe to send a message - it's free! See below for instructions.)
COMPENSATION:
As is the established practice in the Improv community, we ask for a $5 contribution each to the director at the end of the session.
