Hi, Richard,
It's important to remember that HHY and his wife did not do the research
themselves. They simply compiled material that was either sent to them or
that they found in published genealogies. In doing this they have
perpetuated a number of erroneous family histories, several related to my
own family. I would also call Norah's name into question, not just the last
name, but also her first name. Norah is not a very common name in the 18th
century. It's not impossible for her name to be Norah, but I'm thinking that
Sarah is much more likely.
I'll do some digging to see if I can find anything on either of them.
Karen

Subject: [yarnall-yarnell] Jacob Yarnall and Norah Byaldin
In their book, Henry Yarnell and Ruth Brookman state that Jacob Yarnall, son
of Samuel Yarnall and Sarah Vernon, married Norah Byaldin about 1760. I am
wondering if anyone knows his source for this claim or can verify it with
another source. I have not seen any records of this couple anywhere else,
except for perhaps in the 1800 and 1810 census in Middletown Twp., Delaware
Co., Pennsylvania. Additionally, I would like to call into question Norah's
surname. I cannot find record of anyone ever having the name Byaldin, but
there were certainly Baldwin families around at that time.
