This group is for builders of Wurlitzer's Model 105 Band organs. Other band organ enthusiasts are welcome as well. Here we share building tips, missing information, nitty gritty details and anything useful for the construction and maintenance of these organs. There is a forum for questions and answers and classifieds for people who built more valves then they need and want to dispose of one. Please feel free to add photos and files relevent to Band Organs and the 105 in particular. This group has gone unmoderated for some time and it was time to put another project on the home page. Mark Henderson was kind enough to send me a picture of L olita, his mostly "from Scratch" 105 band organ, named after his mother in Hawaii. Mark tells me that he started this project in April and finished in September, a period of only 5 months. This just goes to show what you can do if you have the "stick to". L olita (the organ, not his mom) was built using the case of Wurlitzer Serial #3825. The crank is from Bill Black. Mark has been restoring reeds and Players for about 15 years adn built what he couldn't get from ebay, by hand. Well Done Mark! Your mom should be proud. By the way, remove the space in L olita for the name. Believe it or not the word is not allowed to be used in yahoo groups. Must be some programmers sense of humor or something.
