Hi- I'd like at least one or two betas to work on a huge crossfandom fic that
I've been working on for what seems forever. It's set primarily in the SGA
universe, but has so many different fandoms and pairings that it's practically
impossible to list. There's gen, het, femmeslash, and slash, pairings and
polyamorous relationships. It's an apocofic.

Anyone willing to take this on would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Tonya

I am trying to get back into my writing and am searching for a beta who will
help whip me into shape. Currently I have four unfinished stories that I want to
finish languishing on my hard-drive. Unfortunately, I am a master
procrastinator.

I write Gen, mostly Sheppard and McKay interaction, h/c, some drama/angst. What
I need from a beta - besides someone to curb my love of commas, run on sentences
and check for their/they're/there confusion - is someone who will honestly
critique the work. Tell me if there are slow spots, or boring bits, or just
that the whole thing is ill-conceived. I don't want someone who will be shy
about telling me that this bit here would be infinitely better if I moved it
over here.

And, at this point, I need someone who will send me harassing emails, demanding
new work. Make me feel guilty.

Does this sound like you?

Hi there,

I'm looking for a beta to proofread a Carson and Laura story.
It's 7,683 words, with a NC-17 rating. It focuses on their developing
relationship.

I'm fine with characterisation, plot etc., but I tend to have a blind spot
when it comes to ellipses at the end of a sentence. Nevertheless, a general
punctuation check would be most welcome. I want to be able to post my second
story without any errors.

If anyone's interested, please let me know.

  Many thanks :)

Hi! I'm looking for a beta to help me out with a McShep story.

Summary: The city's back in Pegasus, and John and Rodney have been watching the
stars together for months when Rodney makes an observation. It is PG-13, 1105
words. It has a couple spoilers for the series finale.

Most of it I feel pretty good about, but I'm a little worried the ending may
seem too abrupt even though it kind of felt like the way to end it.

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm looking for a beta for a story I've been working on. I do my own grammatical
editing so I really just need someone to bounce ideas off of and to give me
constructive criticism on characterization and the overall flow of where the
plot is going and how it's getting there.

Title: The Good Left Undone
Summary: What drives that strength of character? McKay didn't know either John
Sheppard well enough to fully understand. Add in a reporter, a desire for truth
and a taste of what "could be" & that unsigned non-disclosure agreement could be
a problem. Vegas-fic.

Note: While there is a female OC featured, along with Sheppard, as one of the
main characters, this is definitely a Gen (friendship I suppose) story and not a
romance. Two people thrown together by circumstance and forced to work together
essentially.

Story rating is R for language, upcoming violence and slightly more 'adult'
humor (you toss two adults together and you're probably going to get some
crass/innuendo humor).

There are 7 chapters already posted at Wraithbait
http://wraithbait.com/viewstory.php?sid=15810&index=1 if you would like to take
a gander at the story so far before deciding (and/or give some feedback on what
is already posted on here or by email - whichever).

I appreciate any help that can be given.

I'll beta nearly anything slash and McKay/Sheppard, any rating, although I don't
particularly like bdsm stories. I prefer plot heavy to pwp, although stories
heavy on sex are perfectly fine! Nearly any length is okay too, but I have a
soft spot for long stories. Also, I can beta stories involving touchy subjects
(violence, consent issues, hurt/comfort).

I don't do stories without hopeful or happy endings.

I have a good eye for picking out typos and missing words, and I also read for
plot-holes, although I might be too forgiving on that front if the story is
compelling and the writing is good.

Anyway, just thought I'd offer myself up in case anyone is looking for a beta

I also have 2 other slash Lorne snips in progress (possibly 3 if I write the

Hiya =) This is another Lorne piece. I started on my hs bingo card and had this
wacky idea to make a blackout and do a verse, the same verse for each prompt.

Anyhoo this is the first prompt, its mainly John's first day, and he spots
Lorne. The main pairing will be Sheppard/Lorne, but not in this bit. This part
is focused on John & Rodney (friendship). Its only pg with a 948 word count - if
anyone is interested in beta'n please lmk, and or contract me via my addy:

Hi,

I'm looking for a beta to proofread a Het Sheppard/OC story.
For now, it's a bit more 20,000 words, with NC-17 rating.

The story integrates some Tolkien features into the SGA plot. It explores the
place of a she-Elf in this modern world and the relationship between Elf and Man
(written from the OC point of view). Being a Tolkien addict and a Stargate fan,
I always wondered how it would be like to have a SG team meeting with
Middle-Earth Elves or something like that.

I already wrote some Tolkien oriented stories, but never in the Stargate world.

Main point: English is not my mother tongue, so I need help with grammar, etc.
Honestly, my English is kind of good, so I think it won't be a drag. Yet I need
to make sure that what I write makes sense and is correct.
I am also open to suggestions regarding the story itself.

Well, let me know if you are interested,

Cheers :)

I'm writing a ofc/Lorne fic that isn't anywhere near done (right now its about
3,600 words) and I want to find someone to look over what I've got done so far
to see if I might be on an even slightly interesting track. I'll probably need
some help with the dialogue punctuation and I also tend to switch back and forth
between present and past tense. I do proof read, frequently, so hopefully I'll
catch most of that myself. The fic will eventually be NC-17 but as of yet it
isn't even PG-13. So if you're willing to help a first time poster I'd really
appreciate the help!
Thanks!
