Hi all. I'm new to the group and to SGA slash fiction and this is my
first attempt at it and would like someone to take a look and see if
the story works or doesn't and to make sure the characters are in
character. The goal is to make this the first in a series of fics that
traces John and Rodney's relationship through the seasons.

It's untitled so far and is NC-17/Adult/First-time and McShep. It
takes place immediately following the events in season one's "The
Eye". It's 53,000 words (about 130 pages).

Please feel free to contact me off-list if you'd be interested in
betaing. Thanks so much!

Subject: Question about characters

I was on IMDB (not the best source, I know), looking at all the
recurring characters and I was wondering if we knew what had happened
to them or if they just hadn't been mentioned recently.

The ones I was wondering about are:-

Dr Biro
Sgt Markham (now, I'm pretty sure he was killed by that lone dart,
but I'm not positive and don't have my DVDs to hand)
Dr Lindsay Novak
Dr Coleman
Cpt Dave Kleinman
Dr Bill Leee
Sgt Stackhouse

And I think also

Parrish
Simpson
Miko (what is her surname - I can never remember)

The characters I'm most interested in are those who work with, or
for, McKay and any of the marines.

Naturally I'm ignoring people like Radek and Lorne, because we do see
them all the time.

And are there any other few time mentioned characters I haven't
mentioned (ones that are, you know, alive)?

This does all have a purpose since it's all for a fic I'm writing
although I am genuinely curious as well.

Thank you for you're time and help.

Markham and stackhouse, I believe were destroyed by the dart that came into atlantis before the Wraith ships in Season One.
Dr Novak, think she is still on Dedelus...hiccup lady.
Dr Bill Lee is mainly SG1 character.

The Canadian gate technician, I believe, is named "Chuck"...may want to check this one out.
Miko (the asian lady who sends a message home in Letters from pegasus) works with Mckay. I think shes still alive come season 3.

Dr Biro was the pathologist seen in Hot Zone. I'm not sure if we've

Dead. He was killed in The Brotherhood in Season 1 and you're right,
it was by a Wraith dart.

> Dr Lindsay Novak

Still on the Daedalus as far as we know. Nothing in canon to the contrary.

> Dr Bill Leee

As far as Atlantis goes, I think he was seen in The Return Pt 1 as the
person Elizabeth has to flirt with so that Rodney can access the
database and give himself access rights, although this appearance
isn't listed in the database on Gateworld. He's on Earth and pops up
in SG-1 every now and again.

> Sgt Stackhouse

As far as we know alive but not been seen since Season 1, so it's
possible he's returned to Earth.

> Parrish

Only ever seen in one episode (Runner, in Season 2), for two minutes.
No information about him since then.

> Simpson

Not seen since Season 1, but no evidence that she's dead.

> Miko (what is her surname - I can never remember)

There's some fannish theories that she's actually the 'Dr Kusanagi'
who McKay refers to having the gene. Don't think she's been seen on
screen since Letters From Pegasus.

A good place to find out about characters is the Gateworld Omnipedia:

Stackhouse is definitely alive. He wasn't killed by the dart.
Novak works on the Daedalus so she's out and about most of the time.
Dr. Bill Lee is stationed at the SGC. He repeatedly shows up on SG1.
Dr. Biro, I'm not sure about. The last time I saw her was in Hot
Zone.
I'm fairly certain that Parrish and Simpson are still alive, but
since they're in the soft sciences, they aren't mentioned as much.
Miko who's surname I believe is Kusangi, I think is still around.
Not sure.

Hope this helps.

Hey people!

If someone is willing, I would like some help with a fic I've been working on. To be blunt, I need someone to tell me if it's any good or not -- and therefore, if I should continue to write it or not. Right now, the story is about 3600 words, with a prologue and the first chapter. Obviously, it is a WIP and I have no idea when I'm going to be able to finish. Of course, if you can also check grammar mistakes and such, I'll be very grateful.

The rating of the story is currently FRT/PG-13. It will be slash eventually (though I'd say that the written parts are very much gen), and it is centered around an OMC.

On a final note; please, I need someone that will really tell me if it is worth to continue the story or not. So, if it isn't good, I want someone who can thrash it. Really.

Thanks,
ShaMak

It deals with Rodney's suicide so it is rated PG13.

I was hoping that with the size of the group and the relative
inactivity (as mails are limited to requests and responses :)), we'd
escape the spammers' notice.

However, twas not to be, unfortunately.

I've removed the spammer from the group, deleted the message and have
set it so that all new members are moderated - i.e. all messages from
them need to be approved by me before they are sent to the group.

This won't affect current members, but it will mean that in future,
when someone joins I won't actually set their status to unmoderated
until they've posted an on topic post and proved that they aren't a
spammer.

I have what promises to be a pretty long McShepp fic. It's totally AU
and a definite work in progress. "G" rated at the stage I'm at and
won't probably go much further than maybe a soft "R", so it's
relatively tame. I've beta'd for others and am a pretty decent writer
on my own, but (a) could use a second pair of eyes on the fic and (b)
am looking for someone to push me to be better.

I'm very good at editing (grammar, punctuation, etc.) and finding
holes... really interested in either trading or someone who wants to
beta this on and off for me since I have a couple other major works in
progress that I'm rotating between. So willing to trade or looking for
someone who just wants to beta.....

If you want to see some of my other work, willing to share before you
decide to commit. Send an email on or off the list if you're interested.

Thanks!

Heya! I'm also looking for a beta at the moment for a Unit/Atlantis

Let me know if you can check it over. It's roughly Pg-13/R at the

Probably, and I stress that this is just probability, if the person is in a place with no access to blood for transfusion, they would pump saline through an IV just to be able to give the heart something to pump. What is usually done is: get the impaled person to the hospital while still impaled (meaning, with the impaling object still in them). If whatever the person was impaled with is not removable, get a team to cut it from it's place; but the objest is not to be removed from the person, lest the blood loss will be severe from the ruptured arteries. When in the hospital, the impaling object will be removed while on surgery, so that the vascular repairs can be done imediately.

I hope this nonprofessional thought helps you.

Morning *waves*

I have a short fluff piece--*hopefully* a humorous Rodney/Ronon piece
that stands under a 850 word count. A quick turn around would be a
plus.

Anyhoo, I'm looking for a hard-nosed editor. Also possibly someone
who might be interested in future fics with various pairings. I
mainly write slash with: Lorne, Sheppard, Rodney, Ronon, Carson in
various combinations including threesomes--would be great!

Someone who can handle my weaknesses: Over use of commas/hyphens,
verse tense problems, word choices, repetitive use of some words—
along with standard spelling, grammar, & sentence structure.

For either please reply off list at: denyce36(at)yahoo(dot)com
Just mention if it's just for the R/R one shot, and, or if you're
