Thank you so much, Storm! I love those books and fear they will fall apart as
many times as I've read them.

Hi all
Apologies for the cross posting.
This is just a quick post to let you know I have now uploaded the second
Wraeththu trilogy (The Wraiths of Will and Pleasure, The Shades of Time and
Memory and The Ghosts of Blood and Innocence) to Smashwords.com as ebooks. As
for the previous publications on there, the books will be available in just
about every format of ebook and will be only $5 each.

Hi all
Apologies for the cross posting.
This is just a quick post to let you know I have now uploaded the second
Wraeththu trilogy (The Wraiths of Will and Pleasure, The Shades of Time and
Memory and The Ghosts of Blood and Innocence) to Smashwords.com as ebooks. As

Hi all, apologies for the cross-posting.
Now breathing a sigh of relief as the bulk of the work for Immanion Press is
completed for this year. We had a mad rush to get four books ready for
Fantasycon in September, and the launch for them was a great success. These
included a new short story collection from me, `Mythangelus'; Keith Miller's
second novel, `The Book on Fire'; a new English translation of Italian author
Roberto Quaglia's surreal `Paradoxine', and a reprint of one of Ian Watson's
much admired novels `Queen Magic, Kingmagic'. It was great fun getting these
titles ready, if a bit hectic!
I've booked up to go to Brighton Shock next March, which is the world Horrorcon,
being held for the first time in the UK at the fabulous resort town of Brighton.
We hope that other Immanion Press authors will also attend. I know Gabrielle
Faust is registered already. The guest of honour is Tanith Lee, who as long time
fans of my work will know is one of my favourite authors. Here's a link to the
convention site: http://www.whc2010.org/
We've recently dipped our toes into creating e-books of our titles. The site we
are using is http://www.smashwords.com So far, we have uploaded six titles.
First off was my original Wraeththu trilogy, followed by Keith Miller's `The
Book on Fire', and Gabrielle Faust's `Eternal Vigilance' and `Eternal Vigilance
II: The Death of Illusions'. More are to follow! We hope eventually to have all
of our catalogue available in electronic formats. Smashwords are a good company
to go with because they produce just about every different stripe of e-format
there is. We've kept the price for these titles really low just $5 each.
I've made an effort to farm out a lot of my editing work next year, with the
express intention of getting back to my own writing. I've had rather a break
from it, but I think that was needed really. I wrote a short story recently,
`Where the Vampires Live', which was accepted for Newcon Press's new collection,
due to be launched at Brighton Shock next year. More details about that when I
get them. I really enjoyed working on this story and am tempted to expand it
into novel form. I've got several ideas I could plunge into lots of notes on
various novels, and a few beginning chapters but as yet I haven't made a firm
decision on what I'll embark upon first. Most important is to stretch my writing
muscles again and get back to work.
Before I think about a new full length work, I'll complete a new story for the
Wraeththu collection I'm editing with Wendy Darling. We've had some great
submissions from the fanfic community for it, and envisage it will be published
some time next year. Again, more details to follow.
That's it for now. Please take a look at our new titles at
http://www.immanion-press.com
this is great news I had started to write a story, but the deadline crept up too
soon for me to finish so I abandoned it. Now that is has been extended, I hope
that I'll be able to finish it and send it in!

Well, the deadline was Sept. 1 but now that even Oct. 1 and I
didn't tell anyone I'd extended the deadline in MY MIND, the latest fan fiction
challenge is now OFFICIALLY extended 'til Oct. 15. So if you're dying to write
about Piristil, Fallsend, end, GO FOR IT!
Thanks for the patience of those who have already entered stories. The past few
weeks have been kind of busy for me.

NEW Wraeththu Fan Fic Challenge
I'm actually visiting Storm for the week and today, while working on some
Wraeththu business, I suggested she come up with the theme for a new fanfic
challenge. Which, as you'll see, she has! Deadline for submission is September
1. As usual, voting for a winner will be done online but in this case might also
have Storm have a look and see if we can have a special 'Storm's Favorite' label
on one, whether it's the 'winner' or not. URL for Forever, BTW:

Current Challenge - July 2009
At the end of Fulfilments, just after Cal and Pell finally reunite and before
Cal goes off to say goodbye to Panthera, Cal speculates on the ripple affect his
encounter with Thiede might have had upon the world:
In that brief, eternal moment when I had become one with the life-forth of
Wraeththu, the truth had been revealed to me. As Immanion had changed, so too
would other places, touched by the fire of the Triad. Now there was a small,
scruffy town in Thaine known as Fallsend, whose grubby streets would open out
into wider avenues where hara could walk free. I wondered what would be the fate
of Piristil and its kind. Would there be a place for them now? Was the force
that strong? Somehow I doubted it. One thing I had learned was the utter need
for light and dark, nothing can be wholly good, but if Piristil still thrived,
then to complement it, there would be other houses; places of healing and
learning. As Immanion could not be utterly light, Fallsend could not be utterly
dark. From the mud would come other roads, and other travellers would follow
them, bringing the warmth of wholeness with them from the south and west.
The Challenge:
Storm herself wonders exactly what does happen β to Fallsend, to Piristil, to
Astarth. Twenty years after the events of Fulfilments, what are things like? Is
Piristil still a `business'? Or does Astarth live there alone? Is the house
haunted? Or is it now at peace? What do they think about Cal and the Gelaming?
Write a story exploring the place and/or characters as they might have evolved
over time. You can use original characters or canon characters, such as Astarth.

Apologies for the cross-posting.
Just a quick snippet of news to say that today Immanion Press has released a
brand new edition of my novel, Burying the Shadow. It has interior illustrations
and covert artwork by Ruby, and there will be Cafe Press merchandise associated
with it very soon.

This is the book as I always wanted it to be; perfect cover and layout to my own
design. For anyone visiting here who hasn't come across this novel before, here
is the cover blurb as a taster:
"Rayojini lives an idyllic life amongst the soulscapers of Taparak until she
reaches the age at which she will be initiated into their ranks. Her initiation
rite, though it follows the traditional pattern of thousands of others, is
different in one vital respect. The guardian-pursuers that are invoked to watch
over Rayojini's progress are real.
"In far off Sacramante, the artisans who are patronised by the upper echelons of
Bochanegran society, live in isolated atelier courts. The public may watch
performances at chosen times, but only the patron families have constant access
to the astounding creations of the eloim artists. The eloim themselves are more
than content to remain a race apart, for so they are, and if the majority were
to know their true nature, their lives would be forfeit. After eons of
contented cohabitation, a phenomenon known as the Fear is beginning to infect
the eloim, who have previously considered themselves free from the petty
psychological problems of humanity. They have been virtually immortal thanks
to the protection of the patrons, who exchange their life's blood for culture
but now the artisans are beginning to die in despair.
"Gimel and Beth Metatronim, an actress and a painter, set out to find a Tappish
soulscaper, who will be proficient enough to enter the racial soulscape of the
eloim, track down the cause of the Fear and eradicate it.
"The soulscaper of their choice, Rayojini, is puzzled that her guardian pursuers
should be so much more real than those of other soulscapers. Then, as she
delves deeper into the cause of the terrible `non-death', a mysterious
affliction akin to the Fear, their attentions become unavoidable."
We will be releasing the second volume in my set of short story collections,
`Mythangelus', in September to coincide with the British convention Fantasycon,
which is to be held in Nottingham this year. I will be launching several books
there, not just my own. The other titles are `The Book on Fire' by Keith Miller,
`Paradoxine', by Roberto Quaglia, and `Queenmagic, Kingmagic' by Ian Watson.

Sorry about the cross-posting, everyone. I'm putting news on the various forums,
and my web-site! Gasp!
Well, it's been a long time since I did an update to the site and put news on
the forums, but a visit from Wendy (who's staying with me this week) has
prompted me to get to it. Or rather, she has prompted me to get to it! She has
told me that people were actually worried I'd dropped out of the scene a bit,
since I haven't posted on any of the forums for a while.
So what has been going on in my life for the last year or so? Well mainly it has
been Immanion Press, and I've spent nearly all of my time editing other people's
books and running the company rather than writing my own stuff. In many ways
this has been essential, since making the company more solid and successful
gives me a firmer foundation upon which to work upon other projects.
Taylor Ellwood and I set up the non-fiction imprint, Megalithica Books, and that
has proved to be more successful than the fiction side of things. People seem so
resistant to new fiction authors, yet will happily gobble up anything that
smacks even faintly of self-help, self-evolution and magic. My personal
explanation for this is that with the world being in such a state, people are
turning more and more to such books in order to find relief from feelings of
despair and helplessness. Plus, our list has grown into something quite
impressive now. We pride ourselves on treating our authors well, and this has
paid off. We've been lucky to get some really cool writers in our stable now
but the expansion has eaten into my time for other creative projects. That said,
I've been writing solidly for over 20 years, so don't feel I have to beat myself
up for having a break!
Even though I'm not writing any new fiction at the moment although I do have
ideas that are simmering, and that I add notes to all the time I am continuing
to work on non-fiction books when I get the chance. I created a new Sekhem
system last year, which melded healing techniques with Egyptian magic, and that
came out through Megalithica Books last year as Sekhem Heka. I have a ton of
stuff I could bring out in that area not least some of the workshop courses
and correspondence courses I wrote for Lady of the Flame Iseum. Again, it's just
finding the time to work on them.
I'm currently working on further degrees of Reiki beyond third degree and am
writing about my experiences with that. I was extremely sceptical about the idea
of `Grand Master', as it just seemed egotistical and pretentious to me, but as
my Reiki teacher offered the degrees and I was frankly curious, I decided to see
what it was all about. While I don't think that this is any way in `higher' than
other degrees of Reiki, or indeed warrants the title `Grand Master' for taking
them, the work itself is interesting and I think worth doing, although if I do
my own take on it, it will be shorn of any `grand'-ness!
Other changes have been to my social life. While in the past I always had a
houseful of people or was gadding about with bands and such like, a lot of
people have `settled down' or hived off somewhere, which for a time left Jim and
me a bit high and dry on the social front. Terminal kids, we found ourselves to
a large degree surrounded by terminal adults. Then gradually, a few years ago,
our social life drifted online, first through an MMO called Guild Wars and from
that into World of Warcraft, where we remain. I ended up becoming Guild Master
of a thriving guild and that is like my `other' day job (except it's mainly
nights), only I don't get paid for it! It amazes me really how difficult it is
to organise people in that environment. How on earth GM's and raid leaders
managed in the days when most events were for 40 people I have no idea. Perhaps
suicide was common! Lol. Luckily, I started organising such things just as the
40 people events were being phased out. The most the officers and I have to herd
is 25, although even that is often a pain. However, I do think it's a pity that
all that glorious old game content is now only the territory of
alchohol-fuelled guild outings on Friday nights, when we tend to go back to big
old raids on a nostalgia trip!
We had a party at our house last weekend to which we invited guildies from
various countries, and that was a riotous success. Was very much like the old
days, but difficult to do on a regular basis, since everyone is so spread out.
Two had to come all the way from Israel. So, the big get-together will have to
be confined to an annual event (we had one last year too), but I do think it's
important to maintain `real life' contact with friends online, otherwise it just
feels too geeky! It's been good for us in making new friends, many of whom
don't live that far away so can come visit now and again, or we can go visit
them. The dynamics of online relationships do fascinate me, and I know I'll have
to write about it one day. Everything seems so much more intense sometimes, and
the dramas are spectacular on occasion! But any member of an online community
will no doubt sigh in agreement there.
Incidentally, can I ask everyone to check out our web site immanion-press.com?
Nick Farrell asked me to plug his novel, 'When a Tree Falls' months ago.. so
here it is, Nick. :) I edited this book, and can recommend it!
If anyone uses that devil's tool Facebook, I can be befriended on there, as well
as Myspace. Immanion Press also has a Facebook page and I expect that is in
serious need of updating too. Oops! But we warned, all I ever do on Facebook is
accept friends and send the occasional message. I don't do any of that applet
stuff.
Well that's about all for now. If anyone has questions, by all means mail me at

To anyone out there who have read the Wraeththu novels,
I was wondering if anyone could give me a good synopsis of both trilogies. I am
very interested in what the true origins of the Wraeththu and Kamagarians turned
out to be. I heard they were from alien origins.
Damian
Hi all,
I've only received a couple of entries for the challenge so I'm extending the
deadline to April 1 (no joke).

I've just listed 2 brand-new copies of Student of Kyme: A Wraeththu Mythos Novel
on eBay. They are leftovers from when I was a bookseller for Immanion Press. I'm

The name Storm gave to that city was "Carmine," and it -does- appear to be in
the same place as Chicago.
Later, the early Wraeththu tribes (well, the Uigenna) apparently moved west
toward Seattle, establishing a capital there and Β renamingΒ it Duwamish .
Well, the above info is from the Wraeththu RPG, so take it with a grain of
salt.....and sadly, a good spell-checker.Β Β Β :(

Actually, I think Theide's home city is mentioned. and on the map in the
RPG it is shown to be in the exact same location as Chicago. Just like
Neovik is NY, eyc..

Can you remember which books that it is first mentioned and then the
name of the other book where the human name is given? That's strange
of Storm Constantine to give a human name for a place, I don't think
I've witnessed that done in any of her other books thus far.

in one book, then the old human name is mentioed in another.

I am relatively new to Wraeththu. I have read the original trilogy in
its early 90s Tor publication and so far most of the first Wraeththu
Histories book. How did one surmise that Thiede and Orien were from
Chicago in the chronology over in the link page of this group. I'm
curious. I haven't read Paragenesis, would it be in there?
