Hello,
My name is Mary Bullock and I am doing genealogy into my husbands
family. His gg grandfather J. R. Day (James Russell Day)married
Minnie Elizabeth Knight in Worth Co. GA on 2-8-1855. He enlisted
into the Civial War (Confederate) on 5-17-1862 in Macon, GA as a
Private in Cap. George A. Dure company. I understand that this
company later became known as Massenburg's Battery (Jacksons
Artillery), in fact what appears on his thombstone is Massenbergs
BTRY GA L ARTY CSA. He surrendered in Citrelle, AL on 5-4-1865 and
his residence was listed as Worth Co. GA. Any information would be
appreciated on him or his wife. I am assumeing that Minnie is
buried beside him in the unmarked grave, in Vada Decatur Co. GA at
Mt. Pleasant.
If anyone has any information on this family, please contact me! I
know nothing whatsoever on Minnie...
By the way Kim, is your husband Edd? If so, I send him transcribbed
documents from time to time, and he and I connect on the
Musgrove/Widner side.. I am not looking at my notes right now. My g
grandfather Willie Wooten Musgrove's brother married Nellie Widner.
From Miller, Seminole, Miller, and Decatur Ga areas,in fact I am
from Decatur Co. myself.
