Context: Large Group Setting
Description:
Divide the group up into small groups of 4-5.
Ask each person in the group to introduce themselves,
and list the 3 thing that they would take on a ship if they
were immigrating to the US and were allowed ONLY
those three items.
After sufficient time for discussion, tell the group:
"Unfortunately, the ship you are taking is the Titanic. It's
gonna sink in 20 minutes. You have to throw one away.

2. A Report From the Field: Women's Leadership Consultation a Hit
On February 9-10, 2001, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary hosted the
Annual Women’s Leadership Consultation The theme of the conference was Share
Life. This conference began in the year 1990 under the inspiration of
Monte Clendinning. The intent of the conference is to provide a forum for
women involved in Woman’s Missionary Union, Women’s Ministry, and Evangelism
in our local churches. It is a time for women involved in these areas to
fellowship together and to learn new ways to minister effectively. The
learning process is derived from speakers that are on the program as well as
networking and gathering information from other women involved in ministry.
This year’s attendee was challenged to Share Life with Others through Prayer,
Ministry and Mentoring.
The keynote speakers were Fern Nichols, the founder of Moms In Touch, Vickie
Courtney, author of Virtuous Reality and Virtuous Woman by LifeWay Christian
Resources, and Janet Thompson, author of Woman to Woman Mentoring by LifeWay
Christian Resources. A joint panel discussion was led by Chris Adams,
LifeWay Christian Resources, Janet Hoffman, Woman's Missionary Union and Jaye
Martin, North American Mission Board. Other personalities included Paula
Hemphill, Vicki Courtney, Susie Hawkins, JoAnn Leavell, Judy Baker, Judy
Bates,Teresa Brady, Rhonda Kelley, Mary Mohler, Dorothy Patterson, as well as
many others.
The speakers were wonderful as well as the testimonies, special music and
conference speakers. Each person that attended came away with a new desire
to reach out and Share Life with those around us.
