This is a support group for people owned by wolf dogs or wolf hybrids (aka, "Colorado Mountain Dogs"). These magnificent creature's very right to exist is debated in our culture. They are a challenge, and a fact of life which must be managed (whether desired or not).

Those of us involved in their lives need a place to socialize, share the lessons we have learned, and work together to find good placement for these creatures when necessary so they may live long, happy, and satisfying lives.

Political discussions as to the proper place these creatures should occupy in the world, the proper balance, etc. are welcome. Criticism of the creatures themselves is NOT welcome and will be moderated out. A common question is whether or not this is the forum to advertise for breeding. It is not. The stance herein is that the cost to wild spirit and the difficulty of fitting a high-% wolf dog into the world of humans make their breeding a part of the problem rather than the solution. It IS a place for rescue placements.
