The purpose of Wikiconomy is to provide a resource for like-minded individuals that live, are interested in or support the "Conserver" lifestyle, be it Voluntary Simplicity, anti-Consumerism, simple living, etc.

For some, this means "Back-to-the-Land", voluntary simplicity or homesteading. For others it is represented by a Freegan lifestyle, homeschooling, living without a salary, and so much more. There are "end-of-society" folks that look to this lifestyle to see them through... whether they are looking at Peak Oil as the "end-of-society" or a religious apocolypse. The differences don't matter nearly as much as the similarities. This is a lifestyle of choice, moderation, creativity and self-sufficiency - in one form or another.
