I found my neighbor's dog. Only she- my neighbor- has left town and left
Rascal with someone, I know not who?
Rascal has injuries from an encounter with a coyote or something and is
being treated by a vet, Dr. Robin? Does anyone know who is taking care of
Rascal. I think he needs his meds and my dog, Hunter just wants to play with
him, only Rascal has large wounds and does not want to play....
Please call me anyone with info,

PS
Thanks to this email, WAIF called me with the phone number of the people who
were keeping Rascal. They called WAIF, WAIF saw this email.... Meanwhile, I
called the vet Dr. Robin and she had me bring in Rascal. He had a nice rest
and relaxation at the vet's overnight.
I called Rascals' new 'step'family and it all worked out. Thanks to this
email that helped me find the family.

A new neighbor has lost his life companion Katy, a senior golden lab. Katy
is quiet, very friendly, and wears a collar but no ID.
She and her dad are newly moved to 2525 Hillis Dr in the Useless Bay Colony
near Freeland, so she doesn't yet know her neighborhood. She went missing
about noon on Saturday, June 28.
Please call me at 260-321-4280 if you know anything about her, and I will
get word to her dad.
Thanks,
Portia McCracken

There's a dead dog in the ditch just past Island Thyme B&B on Brooks Hill Road.
It's large and has short brown fur, and docked tail. The purple collar doesn't
have any ID. It appears to have been there for a few days to a week. I'm going
to contact the sheriffs dept. and see who might pick he/she up.

Rascal- very friendly Huskie- Retriver mix, ran off from our Clinton
home, close to ferry, about 7 pm on aug 9th. Earlier this summer he
was attacked by a coyote and has healing scares along his right
flank. He looks like a german sheppard with drooping ears.
LUCKY is a husky/shar pei mix. One blue eye, one brown. Stocky, 80 pounds,
small ears, very large muzzle. Husky colors (gray/black/some brown), curled
tail. (Picture attached)
Very friendly; curls upper lip but this is part of his "talking." Loves
food/treats. Some play biting, stops with firm "No!"
Has tag with his name and my phone (331-5978).
Last seen about noon Friday (8/15) at home (about 1/2 mile off Honeymoon Bay
Road and about 1/2 south of artificial lake).

A small, adult apricot poodle mix was brought to the WAIF shelter last
Monday. The shelter would like to reunite this older dog with her family,
even though there is a potential adopter waiting for her.
This dog was wearing a rhinestone collar and was found in the parking area
at Double Bluff beach. If you know the owner, please contact the shelter at

Subject: lost terriers?
I have a couple of male terriers in my yard today. Flea collars only.
They are happy to lay in the yard, no one is bothering them. One tan and white,
one black and tan and white.
Not overly friendly, looking a bit lost.
Any one looking for them?

Tips for Successful Faxing
Simple Ways to Shorten Fax Transmission Time (And Save Money)
Avoid excessive use of black. To the greatest extent possible: Avoid large
graphics/logos. Stay away from large font size, bold settings and underlining.
Plan your white space. Faxes are transmitted by horizontal lines. So, even one
small bit of black on a horizontal line requires that the whole line be
transmitted and printed. So, when finalizing your layout try to: create your
document in blocks leaving vertical blank space in between, avoid vertical lines
or frames around the text in short, don't just think of blank space, think of
vertical blank space.

When the lights came back on last night around 10:30 in Freeland we had a
ginger/nutmeg colored dog the size of a large beagle on our doorstep. We fed
her and gave her water and made a bed for her with a feather comforter and I put
a red dog coat with a southwest kind of pattern on her so she would stay warm in
my truck. (My dog Truman didn't want to share his bed with her
!) The chest strap has a baby diaper pin attaching it to the coat. When we let
her out this morning she went to the end of our driveway, looked over her
shoulder as if to say "thank you" and headed up the hill toward Mutiny Bay
Road. She wouldn't come back even though we called her. She did not have a
collar on. She looked to be older as her muzzle was white and the hair around
her tail was thin.
After we got her to bed last night we saw on the news about the gentleman at
South Whidbey State Park who was killed. I heard this morning that he had a dog
with him that survived but nobody I've talked to knows if the dog ran away or if
someone has it. I thought this dog maybe that one. Anyway if anyone sees a dog
in a red coat running around this is where she was this morning. If she belongs
to someone else and has gone home she can keep the coat if she wants it. I
would like to know if she is okay and made it home safely.
