If you're puzzled about what's wrong with your machine, and want to ask someone who might know, this is a good place to look. There have always been shade tree mechanics, usually automobile hobbyists who like to repair their own cars. This is a place for sewing machine shade tree mechanics. You know who you are.

After discussing the issue of cross posting with some other group owners, I've come to the conclusion that probably the best practice would be to ask your question in one group, give people a chance to think about it and respond, try a few of the suggestions, and then, if you feel you're getting nowhere, try asking at another group. Be aware some groups will bounce you for this, there are some strong feelings out there. I figure if I'd taken the first person's suggestion all the time, I never would have started Wefixit.
