Hi folks,
The errors that Mona describes are classic to running Elluminate from behind
firewalls.
I am experienced with this but not an expert. However, I have learned that
there are three places where you must configure a proxy, in case your
firewall requires you to specify one.
One is in your browser under Tools / Options or Properties and so on
depending what browser you have, to connections and settings. There will be
a place to configure your LAN settings. Chances are if you are surfing the
Internet from where you are then your proxy details are there already, but
this is where you go to SEE and COPY them to your Elluminate browser.
In Elluminate it's under Session / Proxy configuration. There are a number
of choices. You need to give the name of your proxy server and it's port
(same as in the browser). You can experiment to see which setting works.
At my office it's working on HTTPS Proxy Server.
If it still doesn't work, you can go to your control panel and open your
Java console. There is another proxy setting here. Normally it's set to
use the same settings as indicated in your browser, but you can manually
enter the proxy details here as well. This has turned the trick for me in
the past.
If none of this works it's possible that your IT guardians have blocked the
ports that Elluminate wants to use. How long has it been since you treated
your IT specialist to a coffee?
Try these tricks and let us know how you get on,
Vance
