Can't say i've ever used one, but i'd be tempted to go to Focus Optics in Corley and try out the scopes they do have in your price range (new/2nd hand)
You could always give them a ring to see if they have that model in stock. Even if they do, it still maybe worth comparing it to similar priced models for comparison.

I am considering an upgrade from an

but the most promising is perhaps the RSPB branded AG80 body plus one of the AG
fixed (26x or 33x) or zoom (20x-60x) eyepieces all made by Viking. I’ve
been happy with my Viking Vistron binoculars, but before I buy, I wondered if
anyone has any experience or views on the scope itself and maybe
recommendations on which eyepiece to get. Unfortunately as far as I know there
are no RSPB shops round here to go and check it out first, unless perhaps Focus
Optics have it in stock.

Sorry haven,t reported sooner.
Last week we couldn,t believe it, when a swallow swooped low, from right to left
over the A34, as we came round the island from Hockley Heath, towards Shirley.
The swallow flew into Shirley Golf Course.
Jean
6 swans, all thought to be Whoopers, flew over Engine Pool and Windmill
Pool before leaving eastwards at c. 2:35 pm today. They left flying
low, so wonder if these might've gone to Draycote or, maybe, Brandon?

I see Ravens regularly in Snitterfield all year round.
I saw a very interesting thing with a Raven last weekend in my new BirdAtlas tetrad south of Stratford. A Raven flew at maybe 3 m height and it was mobbed by several Jackdaws. Suddenly it folded its wings and struck a Woodpigeon on the ground. It didn’t get a good grip so the pigeon flew away with the Raven in hot pursuit. After only maybe 15 m the Raven had the pigeon again, pinned it down and started eating it. Has anyone else seen this bird of prey behaviour from a Raven?
Not I, but I checked in BWPi. In the long section on Food I found this:
<quote> Occasionally attempts to seize birds in flight with feet, usually unsuccessfully; duck Anas, C. livia, and Ptarmigan Lagopus mutus all recorded evading capture, though latter probably taken sometimes (Tinbergen 1953; Schaber 1983; Marquiss and Booth 1986). One clutched Jackdaw C. monedula in flight, though it escaped when both fell to ground (Dickson 1969); another recorded carrying C. monedula corpse in right foot for 30 m (Owen 1950).
</quote>
There is also mention of ravens attacking roosting adult kittiwakes.

A raven flew over the field behind my garden in Shrewley yesterday (17/11/09). I normally see one or two ravens during the winter but I didn't last year. Whenever I do see them they are flying from south-east to north-west.
I know the mallard has a rather long breeding season but I wonder if the duck with nine very new ducklings that I saw today on one of the ponds at Tunnel Barn Farm Fisheries is normal for the time of year. This follows a similar brood of four I saw there on November 2nd.
From a very brief glimpse from a speeding
train this afternoon noted what looked to be a very dark goose at Marsh Lane –
Brent perhaps? Anyone been there recently?
