Greetings to Docents and Park colleagues,

 

As many of you know, Jessica Payne started a few weeks ago as our Office Assistant.  Part of her duties include entering interpretive attendance and related statistics into CAMP, our Computerized Asset Management Program.

 

In the past, we have recorded this information in various ways, but we now need to record more complete information in a uniform manner.  Jessica has created a form that allows you to send information to her in a format that makes it straightforward to enter it into CAMP.

 

You may continue entering this information into the red logbook at the Museum or other facilities, if you already do so.  However, I request that you now enter information on your programs onto the attached form and email it to Jessica@... on a regular basis.  The form is set up to report each program.  If you do this after each program or a few programs, Jessica will have them on file and can enter them into CAMP each month.  Note that there are separate areas for:

*Different kinds of programs such as school and group programs

*Walks, talks, and tours

*Information such as length, topic, tools & materials used, and related items

*Job classification of persons conducting the program (Docents are considered as volunteers in CAMP, Rangers, ES staff, etc.) and the number of presenters.  For example, if 4 Docents conduct a school program for 2 hours + ½ hr. setup time + ½ hr. cleanup time, Jessica will enter a total of 12 hr. for that program, in the volunteer category.

 

Please fill in as much information as you have.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Pismo Docents report this information to ODSVRA staff, but I want Linda Avila to see how we’re doing this in Parks at this end of the Sector.

 

I’d like to ask all Docents and staff conducting interpretive programs to report as much of this information as possible starting with MARCH 2009.  I know it’s more of a chore than we have done in the past, but this is the State Park standard for recording this kind of information.

I added a line below the Title for a space for them to write the number of people that worked on that particular project.  I realized that in larger groups there will be more people working, so I need to know how many so that I can calculate the total hours.
