Sorry you didn't make it down Adrienne, it was awesome!!!

I'm talking about our Camp Zenika Clean-up held May 19th and 20th at
Lake Wenatchee. We had alot of fun, collaberated between Kiwanas,
two different NCCC teams, Intermountain, North Okanogan, and Ferry
County. (I hope I'm not leaveing anyone out.) And we accomplished
alot.

I hope everyone who wasn't able to make it to our Service Project, is
able to make it to the site to see some of the beautiful scenery and
newly cleaned landscaping. I should have some pictures and a new
member of the month on my site soon, I'll keep you posted.

Thank you everyone who made this happen!!!!!

so when's our next collaberation???

Hello SWICC members

I know you are all out there working hard so........This is a wee note to
say hi, and. Yes! There is always the "and", which is....a "polite"
reminder, that Wanda should be receiving County wide membership data for the
collaboration model from every somebody. Since we are all in SWICC that
makes us all a 'Somebody", right? Also, those of you who were going to work
with Gordon Quinlan regarding a draft letter requesting support from CNS and
WSCNS, should have collaborated with him (Gordon)on the draft letter. Could
you also let me know how that draft is progressing for our June 9 meeting.

Gee this is fun stuff, don't you agree? Just when you thought your heads
were above water, Whamo another request??

Kindest regards and please let me know how you are doing!

I would like to say thanks for the ideas on about the members surveys
that were posted on the internet. I have started passing them out to
members on my team and to other team around my area in North East
Washington. Another idea I have is an application/information packet
about our work in InterCorps.

I will get started on it and if you all could add any information
that might be useful please post it either here, on the Intercorps
website at http://www.geocities.com/webmaster_jones, or you could
just e-mail it straight to me at sjones@...

Thanks for all of your InterCorps support!!!

I was wondering if any other teams had made any progress to
collaberate yet??

North Okanogan Americorps and InterMountain are about to collaberate
with NCCC in Wenatchee on May 19-20th for a camp clean-up project.

North Okanogan is also thinking about a big Seattle collaberation, if
anyone is interest in helping out the homeless, foodless, workless,
or anyone else in need of some support in Seattle, please contact me
and I will let you know when my team is going to be over there. It
would be a great opportunity to show Washington State that AmeriCorps
has arrived in Washington with a bang!!!!

ICC members in South West Wash. Take heed, we are meeting at the ESD 113 in
Olympia on 4/28/00 from 10 Am to 2PM. Come one or all!

Instructions:
Take I5 (North or South) to the US101 interchange in Olympia and go West,
take the exit at the signs for the Evergreen State College (right), and
follow the road to the first exit on the Right. Turn Right at the bottom,
(fire station on the right) this is Mudd Bay Road. Drive until you see
Lew's Rentals and then right for one quarter mile. The ESD 113 is on the
right and so marked. Check the TV monitor for room location. Address is in
the document attachment. That is so every one reads the attached document!
Sneeekieee! Huh?

This is a second notification to the SWICC, and since we have 3 hours to get
it done. (10 to 2 with lunch period of at least a half hour and maybe one
hours as the group may elect)
Proposed Agenda
* Have a check-in or get acquainted thing.
* I will be proposing a change of leadership from my self to someone else,
for more diversity, and transfer of skills, like maybe a revolving "chair".
* We have tabulated the concerns form the last meeting, and will try to get
each a committee to deal with those issues.
* Create another committee to find out what protocol we will have to
transfer our ideas to the appropriate forum.
* To change the tenor of the complaints from "bitching" to a constructive
medium where the ICC will be " a part of the solution...!"
* And finally, try to recruit new and old alumni for its (ICC)
sustainability.
* And have a structure or something to conduct meetings by (I.E. Bylaws.)

All of this...,but not in this order.

Do you have any questions or comments?

Greetings WA ICC,

I am sending along a sample member survey from the ICC group in North
Carolina as an attachment. Generating a survey similar to this for your
regional ICC groups (attn:facilitators) would be an extremely valuable
resource to gathering members ideas, and input on their programs so that
feedback and relevant information can be provided to directors, supervisors,
staff and other members in the current and upcoming program year.

If you choose to use a survey similar to this, I again can be your contact
person to share and distribute the feedback with the appropriate
individuals.

Hi Everyone- I wanted to write briefly and let everyone know what is going
on in Eastern Washington with the ICC.

Our biggest challenge thus far has been recruiting representation from a
diversity of projects in Eastern Wa. Distance between service sites is our
biggest obstacle. However, two members have taken on the task of contacting
as many programs as possible. We have also been discussing the possiblity
of dividing into three groups to make meeting together more feasible. If
anyone would like to head up a Yakima/South-Eastern area group, please let
me know.

At our first meeting we discussed ICC leadership roles, communication
guidelines, ICC History/Vison Statement/Objectives, and the use of
technology to communicate. I've attatched an information packet that we put
together for new members. Feel free to use any of it that you might find
useful (Adrienne is responsible for creating a large part of it and you will
probably recognize it as information she distributed at Sea-Tac).

Scott Jones (North Okanogan AmeriCorps, sjones@...) has been
an incredible asset. Pay close attention to his emails regarding web-site,
list-serve and message board. This guy is on top of technology and has
great ideas as well as follow-through.

The focus of our most recent meeting was to plan a service project. At this
point we have a date set and a great lead for collaboration with Camp Fire
and NCCC (Sherilyn Jacobsen, VISTA @ Bridgeport Elementary 509-686-2201, is
responsible for this one. She has a great after school program going with
Camp Fire and would be a good contact for anyone interested in collaborating
with them.) We'll keep you all posted as this exciting event unfolds.

That sums it up for now.

Hello ICC members
I have recently put up a preliminary website at :

http://gofast.to/intercorps

It has good information in the resources page, and It will be getting
updated as frequently as I can get to it. As time goes on, it will be a
place to go and collaborate with other members in Washington State, and
you will be able to find out what's happening in your region.

What I would like everyone to do that get's this message, is to get your
teammembers to write about any project they are heading that is out of the
ordinary schedule. Have them put their email address with it, so members
who go to the site will be able to ask them about their projects, it would
be a great way to collaberate.

Also I am looking into a message board that will go on the post-it section
of the website. That will be for members to go with their concerns.

Thanks for your help and support.

Scott Jones
North Okanogan AmeriCorps

P.S. If anyone from the Western side of the mountains could start
emailing me what they are coming up with on their side of the mountains,
it would be great, so I could put any ideas you might have for the website
into motion.

Hey everyone -

A small group of us met together here at the Fremont Public Association
Monday to discuss further actions of the InterCorps Council in the
Northwest Region. I thought I'd write briefly to update you all on
what we talked about and where we're going from here!!

We scheduled the next meeting for the week of April 17th. We don't yet
have a site, or a specific date. Please contact me with times you are
available that week.

Present at the meeting were me, Cindy Obtinario (Foster High School -
School Success Program), Joan Burnett (Fremont Public Association -
RSVP), Kate Giusti (VISTA Leader with WA Reading Corps) and Dave
Bonainto (Snohomish County United Way - Youth Reconnection Project).

After introducing ourselves and describing our projects, we updated
DAve and Cindy about February's meeting. Joan made a brief
presentation about the Unified State Plan for WA State, and we
discussed ways in which the USP could be used to our advantage, and if
we should formalize some sort of communication with them about our
actions. We then discussed ICC goals and what we'd be interested in
pursuing.

We unanimously agreed that the ICC should function as a place to share
information and get ideas. Other functions came up, such as trying to
grasp a sense of the "larger picture" of national service in WA State,
and promoting National goals (such as recruiting members with
disabilities.)

We then discussed what we could work on to facilitate information
sharing, and how to create a forum for ideas to be discussed. The
subject of the listserv came up over and over again. We agreed that
used properly, the listserv could be an invaluable tool to disseminate
information, training opportunities, etc. We also discussed the idea
of a newsletter sent out in our region, covering issues pertaining to
members, information and resources.

We decided we'd like to create our own regional "listserve" or mailing
list (anyone connected to the AmeriCorps listserv? Something like
that.) I am planning to speak with Adrienne about the mechanics of
that.

We decided that a regional newsletter would be great. We'd like to get
a first edition sent out in April. Kate agreed to coordinate putting
the thing together, but we need everyone to help write articles, send
in ideas, and help us generate a mailinglist of members in the area who
we'd like to get the letter to.

We decided that It would be very helpful if the state commission could
post the "blue book" of programs on the internet, or if we could help
create an electronic roster that members could access to network with
eachother. I'm going to speak with Danika about that.

Our first newsletter will be about "Childcare" (both for
AmeriCorps/VISTA vols and our clients) and Volunteer Recruitment. We'd
like to have a section about a "Success Story" from member sites.
We'll include a section about the ICC - an explanation. And we talked
about an ongoing "Life After AmeriCorps" section with resources, job
listings, etc.

You'll all be getting contacted about helping out with the newsletter.
If you had any ideas for the meeting, but weren't able to make it,
please get them to me!! We can only make this ICC what we want it to
be . . .it's pretty much up to us. Hope to hear from you soon.

Beth

Hello ICC members!

I am excited to see that people are signing up for our ICC, I will soon
distribute meeting minutes, small group summaries. I will also be contacting
members who did not attend the statewide meeting, but were interested in
future regional meetings.
