Welcome to the Yahoo Group for the West Annapolis Elementary School "WAES" PTA (Parent Teacher Association)! ALL parents are encouraged to join the PTA, but you don't have to be a member to join this group. Interested WA residents are welcome,too!

There are many active parents throughout the WAES family that are working together to ensure that we have activites and goals focused on improving the education of our children. However, for 2008-2009, our primary goal is to increase engagement of the parents, teachers, and West Annapolis citizens in the enrichment of our students & the improvement of our school.

Here is how you can help:

Get Engaged - join today in any way you can!!: PTA & CAC members can attend the general and executive committee meetings, participate in the various exciting events, and provide input that may directly shape the direction of any given project. If you have any questions or need additional information, please let us know!

Participate: Your active participation is encouraged and NEEDED !!

Communicate: We welcome your comments, questions & suggestions. Via telephone, E-mail, and best of all, face-to-face.

Attend Monthly PTA & CAC meetings: Guest speakers, parent workshops, and topics of interests {grade K-5} will be discussed.

Stay Informed: Join this group! Upcoming events & reminders are posted to the group e-mail list. Visit this web site weekly if you can to check new files, web site links, and calendar of events. Look for and read the school's newsletter "The Retriever",& other distributed materials in your child's take-home folder.

Volunteer: At school, at home, on field trips, during the day, at lunch, in the evening... There is a way your time/talents can be utilized! Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator of the PTA.
