I should probably play groundhog and pop up out of my burrow at this point.
Hi, all. I'm John, (soon to be ex-XE2/) N9MDH, a generalist just
finishing a tour in Monterrey. I'm headed back to FSI for a year of
training with a bridge assignment likely thrown in to keep things
interesting. We'll be living out near Manassas, in the eastern shadow
of Signal Hill. One of my first goals when back will be the paperwork
to properly join the club. A ham since 1991, the digital side has
always been my favorite part of the hobby; I've also been an EC in the
past as ARES/RACES has been lots of fun.
My first six months back will be language training, so I'll likely
have a bit of time to spare. Count me in for helping, as getting
access at Main State should be a snap. If there's serious thought
about moving things to FSI and they will offer the space, I'll be
right there every day until June 2010.
Someone mentioned the LP at the neighbors' place. My first visit to
FSI, I stood in awe as I tried to ballpark the headings, daydreaming
what you could do a little QRP and PSK31.

PS: The APRS tracker will be fired up when I hit Texas. No one
digipeats on this side of the river. The home leave route should leave
a nice pretty "N" on the map.
