Friends, it is with excitement and sadness that The Von
Foxies announce the coming of our very last burlesque show together. Five years
ago this November, we decided to embark on a nudie adventure and have been
tearing up stages across the country ever since. From our very first shows at
The Rendezvous
to our award winning performance in Las Vegas, it has been an amazing and
exhilarating half a decade. But now, its time for new growth and change. All
three Foxies plan on continuing to perform and are looking forward to new and
exciting projects in the upcoming year. We all know its better to burn out than
to fade away and, let’s be honest,
they can’t make a VH1 “Where Are They Now” episode about us if we won’t
leave. With
a different line-up each night, we will be joined by Ben De La Crème, Tamara
the Trapeze Lady, a eulogy by Pastor Kaleb and music by his soul band The
Witness , The Naked Folksinger, Boylesque newbies Mickey Doe Eyes and Jean Du
Jour, as well as our wonderful hostess, Maggie. Front row seats are only
available via presale. So please join us to celebrate all that we have created,
and welcome
all that will come, in a show filled with numbers that span our entire career.

Where there is death, there is birth! Every night has its dawn! To everything,
turn, turn, turn, there is a season! In the spirit of new life, we have added
our final guests to The Von Foxies' final show. Joining us will be two
performers fresh out of their very first Academy of Burlesque Boylesque 101
class. Please welcome Mickey Doe Eyes and Jean Du Jour.

Oh My Goodness,
I don’t know where to start. I am just so filled with gratitude and joy after
last night’s Lyme Time 3 Show. There were so many of you I didn’t get to
meet and say hello to. I apologize for everyone getting herded out of the
theater after the show was over. It was partially due to us running a wee bit
over, and partially because of some growing pains for TOJ as they learn how to
balance having events going on downstairs in their theater and upstairs in their
“club”. And that only saddened me because you were all so awesome and I
would have liked to have at least said hello to each and every one of you.
So, lets get down to the nitty-gritty. The overwhelming financial generosity
from the audience plus the generosity of a large group of amazing performers, a
host and behind the scenes folks donating their time and considerable talent,
came together to bring in close to 1600 dollars for me!
What does that get me this round?
1) A package of Visceral Manipulation appointments. Visceral Manipulation is a
physical medicine technique that gets sluggish organs and major nerves back in
working order - in this case thrown out of whack by Lyme and its buddies; an
invaluable supplemental treatment.
2) Several Colloidial Silver IV pushes. CS is an indiscriminate bug killer. IV
injection means it works quicker, hits harder and is one less thing my poor
overworked digestive system has to process.
3) A month where I can pay for my own meds and visit to the doctor. My retired
parents having been footing these particular bills, among many, for over two
years.
The goals of Lyme Time are put on a damn-good and entertaining show, to educate
the audience about Lyme Disease, do drag and perform (something I adore), and
have fun despite never knowing if I’m going to feel well-enough to even get
through the night.
Your support, both financial and participatory during the show, is a huge boost
to my ability to keep on this journey towards health. My deepest thanks to
everyone who contributed in any way to make this show such a success!
Please send this email far and wide because there are people who attended the
show whom I have never met and do not know how to reach.
If you are interested in saying a hello to me, or sharing a little feedback or
need some info about Lyme Disease, please do not hesitate to email me at
fuzzylegs@... or join me on my personal facebook page (Andrea Taubman).
I am also breaking down and setting up another facebook page under the name
Randy Andy. My personal fb page is about way more than me as a king, the other
page will exist but will have infrequent updates as I don't get to perform that
often. Both facebook accounts will have the photos of the show posted as soon
as they are available.
Until the next time!

Labor day weekend is coming to a close, the kids are going back to school and
fall is in the air. It is a time of transition, reflection, full moons and
leaves falling. It is also time for a once a year fundraiser show like no
other. Lots of blood sweat and tears have gone into the creation of this show;
performers are donating their "A" game performances, friends of Randy Andy have
come out of the woodwork to donate raffle items and now it is up to you, the
prospective audience to witness and enjoy all our hard work! Please pass this
press release on to friends, fellow burlesque/drag enthusiasts and lovers of
spectacle and humor.
ARE YOU Ready for Lyme Time 3?
That’s right, it’s that time of year again as we journey into Randy Andy’s
Chronically Lyme ridden world of ticktacular proportions. Join our plucky hero
in his fight for liberty, justice and an in-your-face good time. Pasties will
be exposed, ladies will grab their packages and ticks will be taught their place
as the drag and burlesque antics reach new heights! Includes a super fab raffle
and bring yer Benjamin’s because there’s going to be opportunities to stuff
money in some performers’ underthings!
Featuring the best in drag and burlesque, this year’s show includes Randy
Andy, Elsa Von Schmaltz, Sydni Deveraux, Ruby Whiines/Seymour Squirrel and Lou
Henry Hoover. And hosted as always by the magnificent Maggie!
Of course this show is a benefit for Randy Andy, because yes goddamit he’s
still sick (that’d be the “chronic” in Chronic Lyme Disease), treatment
ain’t getting any cheaper (in fact current trends point towards the opposite),
and lotsa folks still need some edjukatin’ (cuz there’s a conspiracy out
there to keep us silent, don’t you know?). Plus it’s a good reason to curse
at Lyme Disease and shake a fist (and a booty) in its face.
Join us won’t you?

Bio’s
Randy Andy is Seattle’s self-proclaimed premiere Drag King and one sick dude
(really). Wowing audiences since 2000, Andy’s special talent is taking the
lyrics of songs completely out of context and performing them as they were
always meant to be. Randy Andy will have the ladies creaming their jeans and
the fellas flinging their panties on stage! His favorite quote, “Randy is an
adjective for Christ’s sake!” www.myspace.com/king_randyandy
Elsa Von Schmaltz has many passions; dingle balls, lime green, glitter,
chickens, googly eyes and pork to name a few. Whimsical yet sexy, absurd yet
seductive, she never fails to entertain and surprise with her unique style of
burlesque. You just can't look away! Elsa can be found entertaining the masses
all over Seattle, Portland, Olympia and exotic locales like Eugene, OR and Santa
Fe, NM. www.vonfoxies.com
Lou Henry Hoover has been dancing since he was three years old. He directs The
Launchettes (Century Ballroom's resident chorus girl troupe) and LAUNCH dance
theater (a contemporary dance company), and teaches ballet at Velocity Dance
Center. www.LAUNCHdancetheater.com
Sydni Deveraux "Miss Yum Yum Give Me Some" and "The Golden Glamazon" hails from
Seattle, Washington. Burlesque diva, producer, teacher, chantuese, theatre nerd
and host, Sydni has a tendency to pull her audiences into her glamourous land,
only to show them that sometimes glamour is twisted, flamboyant and thoughtful.
Towering at 6'1" and sometimes 6'6" in her heels, Ms. Deveraux's ass is like a
metronome and smile is like a beacon. Called "A Glorious Creature" by no other
than legend herself, Catherine D'Lish, The Golden Glamazon's show is not to be
missed! For more on Sydni Deveraux, please visit

Seymour Squirrel is a man of FAST FOOD abilities. A man of many talents. A man

the Everyman hero. He’s so good, you should look away, but you won't!!!
Ruby comes from deep in the Olympic mountains to the Emerald City.... where she
enjoys the nightlife...and RUBY, the RED Sparkling Whiiner Loves RED!!! Ruby is
a laughing and gigglling kind of sweetness that will win your heart time and
again. You will always see her with a smile on her face and a Gin & Tonic in her
hand. Just when you think it's all sweet and cheerful, the Dirty Mind Of Ruby

Maggie (Jennifer Jasper) has been entertaining on stage and off for the past 15
or so years in the Seattle area. She is a regular host for the Von Foxies but
can be seen hosting various events around the Seattle theatre. “When God
gives you lemons just add a little scotch.”
Jennifer Jasper the genius behind Maggie has been performing and directing in
Seattle for almost 20 years. She was a co-founder of Kings’ Elephant Theatre
(10 years) and co-founder of Pulp Vixens (10 years). She has been performing
her own work in various forms including stand up comedy, monologues and is now
developing a one-woman show for 2010. Most recently she can be seen hosting for
the Von Foxies Burlesque as the scotch-swilling “Maggie”.

Hello friends and fans!
For those of you that don't know, every year I (Elsa Von Schmaltz) help a very
special person in my life produce and create a benefit show. All proceeds after
expenses go directly to helping cover her medical costs for treating her chronic
Lyme disease. We are gearing up to do it again and I want to extend my warmest
invitation to come see, help and enjoy a smashing good show for a smashing good
cause. I cannot begin to describe how having someone near and dear that is
chronically ill has impacted my life. It has shifted my perspective on health
and just how lucky we are to be able to have it every day when we wake up. The
amount of $ spent on medication, doctors visits and other support methods ranges
right up there with a mortgage payment and that is without her being able to
work. I normally don't include this type of preface to shows, but this one is
different. So without further adeiu.....

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Notorious New York City downtown performance artists Glenn Marla, Heather Ács
and Silas Howard of Tribe 8 present an evening of new solo works, traversing
through a multi-media world of string theory, face masturbation and loopholes in
the American dream. Through ruminations on desire, shame and loss, this motley
crew invites audiences into a non-linear landscape scattered with fragmented
mothers, MILF-y therapists and the mysterious figure of Mr. Hollywood, asking
what is the price of letting go, selling out, or breaking up with your body?
“Tragic Magic was so good it hurt…Thank Goodness I brought moist
towelettes!” — Justin Bond
Howard’s Thank you for Being Urgent is a textured tale of a transman coming up
in the queer punk world of San Francisco and spilling into the crappy and
exalted glitter of Hollywood. He searches for true tales of fierce outsiders and
re-imagines the mainstream, never loosening his grip on the underground. Our
hero begs sanity from mystery man Mr. Hollywood through playful and plaintive
letters, ruminating on desire, shame, and the infinite loopholes in the American
Dream. Traversing serendipitous heights and punishing ironies, Thank you for
Being Urgent chronicles burlesque dancers with dementia, tranny jazzmen and film
executives, using archival photos, monologue and charm.
Marla's Tragic Magic asks, What has your mother’s fear of death done for you
lately? Are you afraid to leave the house without make up? Do you obsessively
hoard Sweet'N Low packets? Did you want to fuck your therapist at age 14 because
she loved you more than you could ever love yourself? Performance artist Glenn
Marla is thrilled to premiere Tragic Magic, one tranny’s dark, hilarious
exploration of how we interact with our bodies and our past. Glenn’s new work
in progress combines text, dance, face masturbation, personal affirmations, body
break ups, and a bathtub striptease, continuing his tradition of visual and
theatrical daring.
Heather Ács’ piece "what the brain forgets and the heart denies, the body
remembers…" explores illness, death, grieving and loss refracted through
working class Appalachian and Mexican cultural imagery, creating a nonlinear
world layered with movement, gesture, storytelling, soundscape, video and
installation. In this multi-media solo performance piece, time and testimonies
loop, break apart, burrow, reemerge and cross over. Breath taking, glass
breaking, gifts are bestowed. Sparrows descend, tortillas and tears sizzle on
the comal, a river flows with dirt and glitter. Lesley Gore croons cotton candy
lyrics laced with razor blades while dust gathers in an empty house. Stitch it
all together with string theory and skeleton keys, stuff into a mason jar, shake
until your heart might break, check your pulse, make a wish, and see what rises
to the surface.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Silas Howard (writer, director, and musician) co-directed his first feature, By
Hook Or By Crook, with Harry Dodge. The indie classic was a 2002 Sundance Film
Festival premiere and five-time Best Feature winner. Silas Howard's next film,
Exactly Like You, (co-written with Nina Landey), is based on the life of Billy
Tipton. Howard's short documentary, What I Love About Dying also premiered at
the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. For eight years, Howard toured with his band
Tribe 8, the notorious queer punk band (a band boycotted by republicans and
women at Michigan womyn's music festival). The band has been featured in Rolling
Stone, The Village Voice, and The Los Angeles Times. Howard's music videos,
short musical and documentaries have aired on MTV and LOGO networks and at
Disneyland, Anaheim (weird, yet true). Howard's writing is also featured in the
anthologies, "Without a Net: Growing Up WorkingClass" and "Live Through This ,"
as well as the artists'
journal, "LTTR." Currently Silas is working on a novel set in San Francisco's
mid-90's homocore scene.
The Portland Phoenix calls Glenn Marla's work "performance art that pushes the
envelope without pushing the audience away,” Time Out New York Calls Glenn a
“downtown prophet,” and The New York Times calls Glenn "an obese
transvestite in tights." Glenn Marla is a firm believer that if you don’t fit
in anywhere you can fit in everywhere; this mindset has stretched his own
concept of performance and the minds of his audiences and brought him places he
never thought he'd go. In 2008 Glenn was featured in Justin Bond’s in Lustre:
A Mid Winters Trans Fest at P.S. 122 and Abrons Arts Center . His Lustre dance
theatre piece is part of Drag Show Video Vierte, documenting the past 50 years
of drag in New York City and is archived at Lincoln Centers Performing Arts
Library. Glenn’s 2007 year-long performance project “New York City’s
Hottest Fat Go-Go Boy” explored fat, gender and sex, and he danced all over
the city bi-weekly becoming a regular in
New York nightlife. Marla's early original work was featured in festivals at
the Culture Project, Theater for the New City, HERE Arts Center, and traveled to
NYC public schools.
Heather M. Ács is a multi-media theatre performance artist, activist, educator
and high-femme troublemaker. Her gritty, glittery work has been featured at the
Culture Project, HERE Arts Center, the Kitchen, the Public Theater, Theater for
the New City and the New York City International Fringe Festival. She performs
and facilitates workshops at community spaces, colleges and conferences from
coast to coast. Heather has worked with Nao Bustamante, Karen Finley, Claude
Michelle-Wampler, J. Ed Araiza of the SITI Company, and Steven Soderbergh.
Heather is also a dedicated teaching artist. She uses theatre as a tool for
social change with low-income youth in cities across the country and has studied
with Cornerstone Theatre Company, Sojourn Theatre, and Augusto Boal.

When the Von Foxies think back to their adolescent sexual awakening, they
envision one thing. The Purple Revolution himself, Prince. Their pliable young
minds were filled with images of buttless pants, gender ambiguity and stage
humping while their ears were filled with the sweet sounds of heavy breathing
and dirty words. Join them as they celebrate this one man sexual revolution with
guests Iva Handfull, Toby Langford, Cattitude, and Maggie! A costume contest
will be held at intermission with one winner receiving a special homemade prize
from the Foxies. Don your favorite moustache! Cut the back side out of your
favorite purple velvet pants! Bring your Love Symbol shaped guitar! Join the
fun!
The Von Foxies are Seattle's hottest comedy burlesque power-trio and Miss Exotic
World 2007 Best Burlesque Troupe winners! Pidgeon Von Tramp, Heidi Von Haught,
and Elsa Von Schmaltz have performed across the country from Boston to the Bay
Area, New York to New Orleans, and have made a home for themselves in the
burgeoning neo-burlesque community. Often told they have "cornered the market on
the absurd," these kinky minxes enjoy playing with the boundaries of sexuality,
gender and decency while engaging in their distinctive brand of bait 'n switch
bump 'n grind. They adore burlesque in all its forms- traditional bombshell
beauty, queer gender-f*ck draglesque, hilariously naughty satire and politically
powerful theatre.
Toby writes things down because it's cheaper than therapy, and performs because
of a strong belief in the transformative power of sharing each others stories,
but mostly Toby is thrilled to share the stage with the Von Foxies celebrating
all things Prince. All hail the purple rain.
The Clackamas Community Cat Club (CCCC) strives to create cat based art in a
supportive, loving environment. Through interactive workshops, community
building, interpretive dance and outreach we hope to create a cozy catmosphere
for all feline friends. We are the cat's meow! The CCCC presents the Cattitude
Dance Ensemble.
Iva Handfull is Rock n Roll Burlesque. She is defined as contemporary, extreme
energy, pop-culture, humorous, androgynous, and impersonating at times.
Simplicity is not in her vocabulary.

Its almost November and everyone knows what that means. The Von Foxies Birthday! This year, on our fourth birthday, we also get to celebrate a certain someone out of fucking office!
Save the date for The Von Foxies Fourth Birthday show: Bye Bye Bush! A Muff free spectacuthon!
Enjoy a live bush shaving onstage! (This detail may or may not be true.) But The Von Foxies definitely promise to bring you their distinctive brand of comedy liberally sprinkled with political commentary, and some of the best guest performers Seattle has to offer.
Save the Date- BYE BYE BUSH! November 15th and 16th Theatre Off Jackson Check www.myspace.com/vonfoxies for more info!
PS- As you may or may not have noticed, The Von Foxies have no way of knowing who will be in office when this show hits the stage. Will this be a joyous celebration of
freedom or an teeth-grinding orgy of despair? Not even we know that yet! Come find out with us!
