This email group was set up for the parents, families, teachers, and staff of Vista Grande. It is our hope that a group like this will help to reinforce a feeling of community and family at Vista Grande. As both a teacher AND a parent at Vista Grande, I feel strongly about working together to make our school a pleasant working and social environment, with focus on both academic endeavors as well as social growth.

Keep in mind that ALL members of the Vista Grande community are invited to join this group to participate in discussion. When you send an email to the group, you are sending it to EVERYONE in the group.

The main purpose of this group is for the discussion of events, coordinating efforts, and requests for opinions. The group might also allow for parents who rarely have time to volunteer during school hours to find ways that they can help out.

This is NOT the appropriate place to discuss opinions on teachers, staff, administration, students, other parents, etc. Doing so will be cause for SUSPENSION or TERMINATION from the group. Please show support for the school by maintaining a positive attitude, and address issues with individuals directly.

While Vista Grande staff are invited to join the group, it is recognized that the primary users of the group will be parents. With this in mind, I find that there is no reason why normal "parental" discussion cannot take place in the group. (Examples: (1) So-and-so child is suddenly doing such-and-such behavior...what do you think is going on? (2) Anyone have a good recommendation for a movie where to have a party for a 6 year old? (3) I am getting rid of a bunch of size 8 boys clothes...anyone want them before I put them out for Salvation Army?)

The Grand Opening of this group is an experiment, and we will see how it progresses. It will take time for it to grow and catch on, so please be patient.
