Hello fellow fan fanatics,
I now have a '87 Airmaster ceiling fan. I would love to hang and
operate this fan but I need a small downrod and the 48" blades. I do
have the 56" blades that I am restoring so I can trade them if needed.
If anyone has either a short down rod or the 48" blades, let me know.
Also, if you might know where to get them that would be helpful too.
Thanks!

i did found it,but it was cut/paste on my school's binder in middle 90s(it was
early 90s kmart ads),the brand on that fan(i remember it said it)said it's
alantic air,but the one on my ad shows it in 4 bladed/white/polish brass
verion, but it had a very same light kit/globe,blades,blade arms..etc on it as
well...
i DO NOT have a scanner, but my parents does,as soon as i get to my parent's
scanner,i scan it/post it.

I have NEVER seen before.

Use a pipe cleaner, make a 1/2 inch bend and insert into oil cup, right under
the fan blades. If the pipe cleaner comes out dry it needs more oil.

Is there some little trick or something to knowing how to check the
oil level in the fan? Its one of the newer remakes probably from the
90's and I had to add some when I first put it up. Thanks for any help.
Did you see the pictures of the blades on the vintage ceiling fans II site? I
can make some more pictures if necessary.

Hey fellow fan fans:
I am looking for a old Airmaster(now I know what I am looking for
thanks to Mr. Spiffy)mid sized ceiling fan. The 80s pan cake motor
model. If anyone knows where to get one, let me know! I tried to buy
one from a few places that still have them installed and working, but
it's a no go.
Thanks!
Hey, havent visited the site lately. I recently moved and have some
ceiling fan stuff to part with. It includes blades, a couple downrods,
a moss wall mount control, screws, etc. There is actually a ceiling
fan in there too, the bearings are worn and are starting to bind up on
this one, I think if you spray some oil on it it should spin easier.
Let me know if interested in this stuff. I will post some pics of the
stuff on the "vintage ceiling fans II" site. I am also selling a box
fan and some desk fans on the afca site (www.fancollectors.org) Thanks
everyone. Its not necessary but I hope I can find someone local to
pick this stuff up!
I am planning on using rustoleum spray paint. I am just trying to decide if I
want to try gloss or flat.
Thank You for your reply

For a white fan I've used Rustoleum enamel with excellent results in a regular
spray gun.
I lightly scuffed the old finish with steel wool and sandpaper then cleaned with
paint thinner.
I thinned the Rustoleum about 25% to 35% depending on the temperature with a
combination of 75% mineral spirits (paint thinner) and 25% laquer thinner.

I wanted to match the original color. I just received a new canopy cover and it
is snow white. Now, I just need to see what type of paint to use. By the way I
also use the vintage ceiling fan forum I just haven't registered.
Thanks for all your help.

What finish are you trying to match? The frost white?
Appliance epoxy enamel usually works best.

What type of paint should I use to try and reproduce an original paint finish. I
have just
bought a fan model 22454 ( hunter original) white with antique brass,
unfortunately
someone painted it with latex paint and it looks terrible. I am in the process
of stripping the
latex paint and wish to get as close to original finish as I can.
Thanks for any suggestions

I couldn't view the picture, but in grade school we had 3 blade large
industrial fans in the classrooms & cafeteria. The name was "OX."
And, my grandmother had a different style in her living room years ago and it
had "UNION" on the 5 speed click box on the wall.
Hope that helps.
