So, if the rear is cold (like around 45 degrees F) then the fornt

the way to the cold position or, in my opinion, the fixed orifice tube
might be blocked. The orifice is a restriction in a/c line that sprays
the refrigerant into the evaporator where it tunrs to a gas and
absorbs the heat. It could get plugged. If it needs replacing, the
system needs to be discharged and the orifice replaced. To do this,
the a/c line needs to be cut, the orifice tube replaced and then:

Just for the record, last year, when my A/C freon was low, the rear
was cold but the front not so much. I know, it sounds weird, but I had
it serviced and they told me it was just low.
This year my rear lines have rotted through and now only the front is
cold as I have bypassed the rear.
