STOLEN SCA TRAILER in Oklahoma - Please Help!
I am horrified to have to post this but will be posting anywhere I can think of.
This just came across the Ansteorran Kingdom List:

Good Friends,

I regret to inform you that last night my personal trailer was stolen from my
driveway with a number of Kingdom, Baronial and personal items inside. I have
already filed a police report with the Oklahoma City Police. Last night I
removed His Majesties' throne, the banner box, feast gear box, and one of the
kneeling pillows to pass on for the trip down to Stargate, so those items are
safe. I went out this morning to retrieve something from the trailer and it was
gone. I have called anyone I could think of who might have picked up the trailer
for this weekend's event, but no one has it. I then called the police to report
the crime and drove around my neighborhood looking for the trailer. The trailer
is a white 5x8 box trailer with a red SCA sticker on the upper left corner of
the door. I have attached a list of what I remember being in the trailer. If
anyone sees the trailer or any of these items for sale online or in a pawn shop,
please contact me immediately. With luck, we may be able to recover at least
some of the items.

*Kingdom*
Kingdom Pavilion (a faraway view)
Her Throne (Another view of the bottom part of the thrones)
Kneeling Pillow
Black box of largess
Banner (Not main banner box)

*Namron*
Baronial Pavilion (This is actually a pic of their smaller square one; the large
oval one is the one that was stolen but you can see the distinctive black
tornado edging that is the same)
Hat box with 3 coronets (One of the Namron coronets)
Feast gear box with feast gear
Banners

*Personal*
Trailer
Award Regalia
Heavy Armor
Rapier Armor
2 Rapiers, Dagger, Buckler
Combat Crossbow and bolts
Bed w/ mattress
Bedding
Camping gear
Heater
Chairs

Anyone who attended Bill Short's lecture a few weeks ago realize
what a talented and gifted researcher and lecturer that he is. In
preparation for his next book--on combat in the sagas--he has updated
his list of weapons ^ combat in the sagas--enlarging it to include
unarmed combat:
twic.org/library/arms_in_sagas/arms_in_sagas.pdf

Bill notes that "The file was created using modern Icelandic editions
and English translations, taking advantage of recent advances in saga
scholarship, and avoiding the romantic errors in some commonly-used
on-line translations."

For anyone who missed the phenomenal lecture and event, we're
starting to arrange another visit by Bill next year, probably up in
the Chicago area!

Greetings unto the Populace of the Middle Kingdom from Master Philip White,
Ayreton Seneschal.

The combined branches of the Chicagoland area are organizing our efforts to form
a Shell Barony under the name of Ayreton. This includes the Shires of Foxvale,
Grey Gargoyles, Rokkehealden, and Vanished Wood and the Province of
Tree-Girt-Sea.

As part of our formal request for elevation to become a Barony we hope to
include letters of support from as many groups of the Kingdom as possible. We
would include the words of all supporting parties in our petition, not just
members of the Royal Family and Nobility, Kingdom and Regional Officers, or
members of the Peerages. We are soliciting patronage from any and all that know
us and have enjoyed our company.

If you too would like to see Ayreton become a Barony, then please send me your
letters to help us convince the Royalty, Curia, and Kingdom Officers that our
elevation is a good thing. The best letters are sincere, detailed, and
encouraging. And the more we can get the better. We are especially excited to
hear from our friends outside of our area.

Letters should be sent to me directly at philipwhite@... in order for us
to include them as documentation in our final petition paperwork. Feel free to
forward this to others if you wish. We are finalizing all of our paperwork
within the following months so please send them as soon as possible.

Your Servant to Command,
~p.w.

Lodin, from Fjellborg in Colorado, noted an article on the discovery
of a Norse trading post by archaeologists in Norway. Quite
interesting, but my Norton noted that Norway.com was known for
passing on viruses. Nothing untoward tried to infect me, but be
careful if you hit any links:

Regia Anglorum will be having another meet-n-greet at Pennsic. It
will theoretically be on Tuesday and advertising as "Throwing Light
on the Dark Ages." We will try to have one of the AS pavilions, and
it will be open to anyone interested in serious Viking Age
reenactment. When I have checked in and know the exact time, it will
be announced, hopefully on the Internet but also in the newspaper and
through other means. And, of course, anyone can stop by booth 67 and talk.

I am proud to note that we will have a copy of "1066: The Battle for
Middle Earth" on site. It's about the two invasions of that year and
not about Hobbits :) Anyone familiar with Regia folk from the UK can
see them fighting a dying on all sides!

If y'all are not on the road to Pennsic next Saturday...

Ran into old pal and Forest Glen manager at Market at the Square
today. She told me that on Saturday, 25 July, the Perry riley
Farmstead of Kingston Indiana will be having an annual gathering of
period arts and gardens. It i just south of Covington, "behind the
Coffin Bros. Orchard". It will feature tours of log homes &
buildings, demonstrations of traditional arts, kid activities, food,
music and more. Tickets are $10, or 5 for kids 12-5. Information at
765-793-2710 or 765-793-4432.

Susan wouldn't be pushing it if it wasn't worthwhile, so I thought to
mention it here.

Cheers, Folo

The Midrealm Army is in need of a few volunteers to count the Eastern troops
right before the battles on Monday and Tuesday at Pennsic. Basically, this
would involve walking along the Eastern side of the field counting the helmets
(both on the ground and on the heads) and reporting those numbers to the command
staff. This is a very important piece of data, and is likely to be reported at
the command meetings.

The volunteers would not need to be fighters. In fact, it may be advantageous
for it to be done by non-fighters, so they don't have to worry about getting
back across the field before the canon. It would be beneficial if the
volunteers can identify the livery of different units and allies of the East,
but I have an illustrated guide that I can lend them for this.

If anyone is interested, please email me at uberwolf@....

This weekend, 11 and 12 July, Micel Folcland--the local branch of
Regia Anglorum, devoted to recreated British and Northern European
cultures between 950 and 1066--will be setting up at Rockome Garden
in Arthur (heart of the Illinois Amish country). The manager told me
they will be open on Sunday, but the web page says differently, so
call for specific information!

There will be a cowboy camp set up this weekend as well. Rockome alo
has various restaurants, shops and craft areas. It is an Amish Disneyland!

We'll be having textiles, military drills and games. If it is as hot
as it is supposed to be, there may be neither campfire nor cooking.
We hope you'll be able to come by! For information on Rockome, see

Greetings!

A bit ago, His Excellency Gintaras mentioned that I am currently compiling a
Midlands heavy fighting roster. If you have not already done so (and most of you
haven't), please send me an e-mail with the following information:

Name,
Group,
Household (if any),
Rank,
and primary and secondary Melee fighting styles.

Additionally, please let me know if you plan on fighting at Pennsic this year.

Many thanks,
